Here's another idea I'd be willing to consider. Affix one of these somehow to the A pillar or even the roof. As long as we can find some kind of gromet that would be esthetically appealing to cover holes if needed.

That would be a backup plan, but I still want to exhaust every effort to install a grab handle on the driver's side that is identical to the passenger's side.

Hey Mav, I don't know if this is what you are thinking, but how about this. If we can make 2 metal brackets that we can screw to the current A piller, with the proper connecting holes for the grab handle, and find out how to obtain the trim and handle from another country, I think we may have something. There's gotta be somewhere we can screw some pre-fab metal brackets to that pillar. I work with machinists that may be able to help fab a part.
I don't know if the A-pillar has the thickness or strength to hold a screw-in bracket. I'll need to see it up close to determine if that would hold my fat ass trying to climb up into the truck, but I'm guessing not. Need to see how the factory metal bracket attaches, and if it's workable, use that from a ROW truck. If not, I will fab and weld a bracket to the A-pillar that the factory ROW handle will mount to and trim will cover.

Just need the trim and handle before I tear into it first.

Sounds like a good plan. Be careful if you go the weld route, try not to burn anything. I found a better shot from the video and you can clearly see the North American version handle holder is riveted on just like the one in the foreign picture you posted. Don't give up the ship my friend!

This has been an issue for quite some time now. Here's a video of some guy putting one on the driver's side of a 2014 European Ford Ranger. If the stampings are the same for every country's Gen6 Ranger, then this is doable.......

Yeah maybe it's a choice between the safety of the aibag or the convenience of the grab handle ? If so, I'm all about safety but I hope we can have both....

Well I got my new Ranger Raptor 10-16-2024. I'll post pictures later. I went to order my tonneau cover this morning at parts counter at my dealer and while the parts guy was printing up my invoice I asked him if they make a left handed A pillar grap handle in Europe, would he be able to order me one. Whala! It surprised him because the picture only showed the right hand one but he found the part numbers for a left hand one next to the right hand ones. This invoice has all the parts needed and I'm pretty sure it is for the black one. The 4 pages of parts are all the parts, but in different colors, configurations, etc. I just posted them in case somebody wants them for cross-reference. At this time, I'm not purchasing one of these, but if somebody wants to do it first, go for it and post. Im guessing that you have to remove the airbag to put the bracket on that you bolt the handle to. The reason the US ones don't have this is because we have stricter crash test standards than do the other countries and the side impact crash test is only done on the driver's side of vehicles. If it's doable only without the airbag, I think I'm keeping my airbag.

An aftermarket company did this for the Tacoma... Tacoma left side handle

It's very complete right down to including a riv-nut gun. I did it on my '23 & it really was a mirror image of the passenger side, looked like factory. On the Tacoma it has a side impact curtain, not an airbag. It deploys vertically so the handle isn't in the way.

I very quickly forgot it was there & continued to use the steering wheel for a handle lol. It DID make climbing up on the step to clean windows easier.

What works for me on my Lariat...

Set one of your 3 seat memory buttons to be all of the way down & back. Getting out is easy from there onto the side rails, getting in you slip right over the bolster.

Thanks for the exit strategy!
