you get some chalk and color across the wheel treads and then roll the truck down the road or driveway a little ways so the chalk gets worn away. then you can compare the chalk marks to the tread and make sure you are not over or under inflated on your tires.

In case, anyone’s wondering, the full-size, 33.1” tire (255/80/17) with the Bronco Sasquatch wheel at 8.5” width, fits just fine in spare hanger. Leaves about a half inch from the leaf spring, and plenty of room on the passenger side, and from the tow hitch.

Secure knowing I have a full size spare while wheeling and that I can do five tire rotation.

Those wheels are 8.5” wide and your skinny tires provide zero protection from rocks on the trail. When you get tired of repairing them, get some 7.5” Bronco wheels…. or just remove the fake BL trim rings entirely.

I quite like skinny tall tires but IMHO you chose the wrong wheels….

Any issues with the TPMS getting confused and picking up the spare instead of one of the rear tires?

I should probably get a matching spare as well. With 255/80/17 being an uncommon size, I'd hate to get in a bad situation and finding a replacement tire is difficult.

None. From what I understand the TPMS has to be woken up via movement, centrifugal force. Stays in deep sleep mode until rotated. I've done five tire rotation on two other vehicles and never had a 'confused' spare TPMS.
