If I take off my Labor hat for a moment and focus purely on getting my truck, it feels like we got dealt a pretty shitty hand. The strike happening firstly at the MAP Ranger/Bronco plant literally as soon as the new 6G rangers were about to hit the line is incredibly unfortunate for the people like us that have put in the time calling dealers, finding allocations, etc for over a year now.
However I think that we're rapidly approaching the endgame of this strike. By shuttering the crown jewel of FoMoCo, the Kentucky Truck Plant, Ford is losing an eye popping amount of money every week (I've seen reports that it's up to $400mm/wk)
Meanwhile we've got the UAW strike fund that still sits at about 80% of the pre strike war chest, but we're entering a second month of those striking workers still only receiving $500/wk from the union compared to their normal paychecks.
I think both sides are going to be pressured even more to get a deal done
