I put the BAKFlip MX4 on my Ranger last September and it has been flawless. I've opened and closed it many times, both fully and partially with NO latching issues. Maybe it was an install issue?

Also had the MX4 on my GMC Sierra for years. Only issues there were self-induced. I forgot to attach the straps one time. Wind caught it and slammed it closed and broke a latch. RealTruck replaced the part free of charge.

I installed this on my RRaptor. Don't overtighten the side rails, that causes them to tilt down slightly making the panels hard to latch. I also had to "shim" the latches on the underside of each panel to allow more latch space. It took me awhile to get everything tweaked. Then I drove it for a couple weeks and let things settle, then snugged some things up better. The good news is when it's dialed in it's pretty water tight other than water getting in around the tailgate when driving, but that's not the cover's fault.

It was a bit of a pain to install, but I'm very happy with the final result.

Got the Undercover cover today.. installed it in 30 minutes and magic, closed and latched effortlessly. Not sure why the bakflip didnt workout, but this evenings install experience was how it should of went first time around...

On a positive note, Real Truck handled the swap professionally and was a good experience.

Cheers!

After 5 months of use, no issues to report, works as advertised. I found that the water that gets in is mostly due to the plastic bed rail plugs along the top of the bed, which isn't a great deal and not worth the effort to put silicone around them.

Not much to update on. Cover works as expected. Its not waterproof, to level set that expectation... but it looks good and for the price, im good with it.
I'm sure the cover itself is waterproof. It's the bed rail plugs that leak.
