I have noticed two "bumps" on the flat surface when the rear seat is folded down. They seem to be two bolts or something similar that are protruding slightly on the fabric. I imagine this will wear through the fabric soon. Anyone else notice this?

The bigger bumps can be removed by pulling the center headrest out entirely, but yeah it’s not a particularly flat surface, lots of metalwork underneath the fabric.

Mine is already showing some decent wear after a few trips with the dogs kennels sitting on top of it. If it starts wearing all the way through ill probably take it by my locally auto upholstery shop and have them remove the cloth, fabricate a flat surface and reinstall a more durable cloth too.

The added bonus of removing the back headrests is that you can now see safely using the rear view mirror ?

What I ended up doing that seems to be working fairly well, is throwing my hard seat cover back on top of it when I'm putting kennels there. I just fold the sides of it up and lay it on the seat back.

Will probably eventually grab Adventure Lab's rear seat delete though and just take the back seats out for the longer trips.

There is a rubber mat for the rear of the rear seats NOW. amazon. I will buy one. I carry a dog everyday. That would do.

I did the same with a CRV 2021 where the rear seat is folded and protected by a similar mat. I doubles as a good cargo area.

Just did a quick search and found it: https://a.co/d/8YveRbG

I've put my order in for the rear seat delete from Adventure Labs. The height will be a lot easier for my dog (and me) plus the larger flat base. But... this would be a nice option (much less expensive) that was not available when I was looking.

The rear seat delete by Adventure Lab is fantastic. Definitely worth the price if you have a use for it. My back seat is primarily for my dog and storage. Certainly a worthwhile upgrade for me.
