Did they show you any paperwork? I know my 17' F150 when the battery was like 7 years old it would do the same thing you are saying, new battery and it all went away. Todays car batteries are good for 6 months to 7 years it seems. I would be surprised if they even fully charged it on the bench and properly load tested it. It is the only proper way to do it. My opinion of course but in my experience it has been the only way to make sure. Good luck! Hope you get it figured out.
No paper work. I'll see if I can get it checked somewhere else.

The few times I couldn't start remotely, whether with the FP App or key fob, was because a door wasn't completely closed. It looked closed, but not quite. A telltale sign is that the mirrors wont auto fold if a door (or hood) isn't completely shut.

Remote start with the FP app runs off cellular modem. So being in a weak cell area could also cause problems.

Last night laying in bed I wondered if you have windows down and request a remote start will it roll them up?

I found Garry's post very timely. I was leaving a friend's Saturday evening and used the app to start my Ranger from 2 rooms away. The wheel continued to spin which made me wonder what was up. I guessed I was too far away but the strange thing was that the truck started and I could set the heat, defrost, etc, yet the wheel kept spinning. I used the app twice since then and haven't had that happen again.

I just figured out how to start it with fob. I was pushing the unlock door then twice on the
circle with 2X.

To my surprise today I pushed the lock button then two times on 2X in circle. Started

I do think this is useful to warm the oil up for the turbo when walking to the Truck.
Useful in cold weather. Maybe a remote block heater would be useful for people in Southern/Eastern NA

Can you roll the windows down with the Fob, XLT.

It will start the truck, but not roll up the windows.
But you can roll windows up or down with the fob if you truck has Global Opening/Closing.

Global Opening and Closing (If Equipped) - Switching Global Opening On and Off

  1. From the settings menu, press Vehicle. See Center Display.
  1. Press Windows.
  1. Switch Global Open on or off.

Using Global Opening (If Equipped)
1. Press and release the unlock button on the remote control.
  1. Within one second, press and hold the unlock button on the remote control.
  1. Release the button when the windows start to open.
Press the lock or the unlock button on the remote control to stop global opening.
Note: Global opening will only respond to a press and hold of the unlock button for a short period of time after the unlock button is pressed on the remote control.

Using Global Closing (If Equipped)

Ford Ranger Ford App Autostart {filename}
WARNING: When closing the power windows, verify that they are free of obstructions and make sure children and pets are not in the proximity of the window openings. Failure to follow this instruction could result in personal injury or death.
  1. Press and hold the lock button on the remote control.
  1. Release the button when the windows start to close.
Press the lock or the unlock button on the remote control to stop global closing.
Note: Bounce-back is on during global closing. See What Is Window Bounce-Back.

Mine disables FordPass remote start all the time. I get the app notification that remote start is disabled due to low voltage just about every day which makes it almost useless. When I had the truck in to replace the tail lights I had them check the battery. When I picked up the truck they said they tested the battery and it was fine - quote "We hooked it up to our big fancy machine and everything tested fine. No idea why your app is telling you that."

I've heard the Ford battery management system is a bit finicky. Luckily I can just look out the window and use my FOB to remote start.

Anyone else unable to start their truck from the app? Just gives me the spinny wheel of death.
Strange, mine does that quite often, although occasionally it works. My wife's F 150 on the other hand starts from the app ALL of the time. I can even start her truck at work, while I'm at home. I'm lucky if I can start the Ranger while its sitting in the driveway. Must be a Ranger thing....

Oddly enough it randomly started working again last night and again today. Maybe it just needed a weekend to relax as well lol

Started going into sleep mode a few weeks ago. Now it happens all the time. I monitor the voltage from the ecm when I drive and it also looks like it's charging weird. There is a TRM update. A ssm says could be causing battery drain. If so, an FDRS has to update it.
Of course, it's effing 14 deg for the next couple days.
Mine goes into sleep mode way too quickly too. Im away from the truck through the winter and planned to periodically start it remotely every so often, but unfortunately thats impossible since it goes into sleep after a couple weeks. Can't imagine my battery is draining that fast unless there is something really wrong with it.

It's because when your truck is OFF, it's not really OFF. There are several things like telematics and anti-theft still running.

But is it actually draining the battery that fast? Just feels like the threshold for the sleep function is set too high (or maybe those things drain the battery faster than I am expecting).

I haven't experienced it. But my mom left her car parked for about 3 weeks, and couldn't remote start it, although it started easy with the key. It may not be that the battery is low, it's just the ECU seeing that it's not getting charged regularly, so it goes into sleep mode to preserve the charge.
