Update: Spoke to Joe at Ford Performance just now and he was able to get the tunes back on the device. Back in action!

P.S. I’ll never hit the update button again 🤣
Good news

The RR is nice since it's just a software mod, so I carry the pro-cal in the truck in case of an unlikely, but possible emergency where I could not find 91 or high octane (never happened to me and don't know anyone who ever has run across that, but there are some very remote areas where a few people have run into that before).

You might carry a 15 amp battery charger with you too. If you plug your Pro Cal in and install or uninstall the tune without the battery charger you may due major damage to the computer. The instructions clearly state to hook the RR up to a battery charger before doing anything. Check it out or call FP.

It wont damage it unless your battery is dead/dying. Its just like using forscan or anything else that plugs in, make sure your battery is ok so it doesnt die during updates and lock up the ecu.

I’m no Ford mechanic. But the Ford dealership that installed my Pro Cal said not to let the battery voltage drop below 12.4v. Far from a dead battery. If that happens you might have to have a Ford mechanic reinstall the code that makes your truck operate. Line by line. Why you would ever tell somebody not to worry about this problem unless they have a dead battery is beyond me. You should stick to examining airplanes and let truck owners to let their mechanic about what is best for their truck.

I’m neither a Ford mechanic nor an aircraft examiner, but I was standing there when the Ford mechanic installed my ProCal. 1st thing he did was hook up a charger to my brand new just deliver 2025 RR for the installation. He told me to always hookup a battery charger to ensure the voltage does not drop too low. I believe it’s around 12. Why you would tell somebody to not hookup a charger unless the battery is dead/dying is simply wrong and could cause major damage to the system’s ECU. You are an aircraft examiner, so you should understand risks that happen when taking a chance over something so small as the time it takes to hookup a battery changer.

Yup. And its only a problem if your battery is not good enough to keep charge.

My truck, being also new, i havent plugged in any charger when doing stuff like that.

If you wish, do it. I didnt say dont do it, i said not needed. My experience and yours are different. The dealer hooked it up while you were there, i didnt when i do the stuff on my own.

Nothing wrong with either way.

I honestly think you all are arguing/discussing something that shouldn’t be an issue. Just carry a bottle of octane boost in your truck for the rare time you can’t find high octane gas. Seems to me that would be FAR easier that flashing back to stock.
