Doesn't look like it. You just have to link your Ford,com account and pick the VIN of your vehicle from the Ford site. My 2024 was able to be selected.

ONX is pretty good for casual explorers. Gaia is better but the learning curve is much steeper.

My sub expired in Dec 25, says I'm ineligible, but as you said it offers fish, hunt, and backcountry

I think you can cancel the subscription immediately after signing up.

In my profile settings it says "If you end your membership now, you will still have access until March 20 2027"

Damnit! I just paid for a year of elite membership. If you are a veteran, first responder and some other statuses, you can get 50% off your annual membership through id.me. At least I took advantage of that, but this would have been the better deal, obviously.

Have i just become too cynical in my old age or did anyone else's first thought go to, "Ford will use it's access to your OnX "history" to deny warranty claims because you utilized your vehicle for prohibited activies" ?

Ford already has access to all your GPS data regardless of you signing up for ONX
