Has anyone seen a front-mount trailer hitch that is compatible with the 6G ranger? Looking for something I could install to haul 1-2 bikes while we tow our camper.

There are two or three other threads on this topic. They all lead to the same place, which is that no one on this board has found a ready made kit for a front receiver hitch.

I'd really like to have one, but I don't want to attempt a custom job. I've searched the web a few times. I won't say that a kit is unavailable, but I haven't found one.

I had a 2012 F150 3.5 Ecoboost, which could not take a front hitch receiver because of the turbo cooler. I'm thinking that may be part of the reason why the Ranger can't take them.

Get any fabricator, muffler welder or anybody with a weld shop. Have any 2" tow hitch receiver from any truck, JUST MEASURE THE LENGHT OF THE LARGER BAR TO BE LONGER THAN MEASURING YOUR RANGER FRONT PULL RINGS WIDTH, side to side, and add 2". If the bar is longer, youre golden.

OPTION ONE. DIY EASY. Cut it 2 incher larger than both pull rings. Put the hitch bar below the pullrings, measure and drill a 5/16 or 3/8 hole on the square bar at the center of each pull ring. Put the bar under the pullrings, and a 1/4" plate of a size little larger than the rings, put it over the ring and tighten with a security nut. Remember to check bolt after an hour using the hitch the first time, it might loosen up a little.

OPTION TWO. Held on the pull rings bolts: Take out the pull rings bolts, and cut the hitch long bar and weld a 2" metal strip each side to be held BETWEEN THE pullrings and the chassis, held with the stock bolts or maybe a little longer ones.

OPTION THREE. just weld the hitch large bar to the each inside part of the pull rings, i mean between the space of them, weld to the pullring inner face each side. You can still detach the pull rings and the whole bar pulling out the bolts.

Any decent fabricator, or muffler repair shop would make it incredibly easy. Either way it would be quite strong for any amount of bikes.
