My left front sensor is going off at 47°F and my RR tries to switch to Baja mode when I'm driving....?‍

I just picked up my (now second) '24 Ranger Raptor yesterday, only to have the front driver's side parking sensor go crazy on occasion (even with no vehicles around), and it was a relatively pleasant day (mid 60's and sunny). My previous Ranger Raptor never experienced this issue, though I only owned it for roughly two months (August to October of '24; sold it because I needed something that could tow 15,000+ lbs). Missed that truck every day, so when the opportunity came to buy another one, I grabbed it. Got several thousand $$$ off MSRP by buying a '24 (October build) vs buying a '25.

Okay, too much info, but my parking sensors are going nuts. Interesting to note that it could be weather / temperature dependent, though as I said, yesterday it was mid 60s and it occurred at least 10 times during my drive yesterday (first day with the truck).

Dealer is putting 2 new sensors on my RR.

Update 9-15-2025: It just switched modes by itself when the tech took it out on one last run after having it for 2 weeks and counting. I will update ASAP

Update 9-16,2025: Got the truck back. Service advisor said Ford is installing new switches (which are hard to come by now, like the j braces were when they were in high demand) while working on a software update which they think is the real issue like we all suspected. The 2 sensors they replaced are the ones on the front "grey" part of the bumper. We shall see how they work when the mercury drops. I'll update again then.

Update:

47° and my sensors were going off. Not the new ones that are on the gray piece of the bumper. The middle ones (on the corner of the bumper) were going off. The left one was changing from red to yellow to off.

I have to take it in to get a new "mode" switch installed for the "gost" mode issue. They had my raptor for 2 weeks to get it to replicate 😖, that was tough. It finally did it on the last day before I picked it up. The dealers are being advised by FoMoCo to first install a new switch. At the same time, they are working on the software because they realize that it could be it as well. One guy on that thread said his was changing modes when he put a cup in the cup holder that's closest to the switch. So maybe it is a switch thing, that would be great if that's all, it was! I hate software issues.

I shall update when I know what they are going to do with this sensor issue 😖

I’m getting this on my new in July 2024. I was pretty fired up at the fact Ford knows it’s an issue and is ignoring it. Too much money to spend on something that throws errors every day.

Decided to turn my front sensors back on as they've been off since I picked the truck up last Nov. I didn't even make it out of the driveway before it started with the blocked sensor error, so back off they went. The new 2025 model doesn't have the two front side sensors that the 2024 model has. I wonder if its due to the location more than a software thing. Would be nice for a fast fix.

Ah yes "Ford knows" and should care because you bought a truck but you are a rounding error in the grand scheme of things.

I have a pretty tight garage fit so I deal with this everyday. It to me at least feels more like a sensitivity issue then the positioning. It very much doesnt like reflective signs and things to refract on. I think the sensitivity is just tuned very high so it can detect cars coming from the side.

I don’t think it’s a reflective issue at all. I sit at a stop light and it just goes off as soon as I come to a stop and continues to go off sitting there.

If its only doing it at every single stop light, and not every single stop, then it is a reflection or interference issue. Does it do it at EVERY single light, or are we over generalizing?

Just about any time I stop it’ll start to go off. Doesn’t even have to be at lights. Middle of a road and it’ll go off

It should be going off when you slow down, like you’re parking or stopping at a light. If it goes off at a higher speed, you have a different issue.

Meant to saw if I’m stopping in the middle of a road to let someone turn, it’ll go off. No stop signs needed. None the less, there is no rhyme or reason for them to be going off

Right, like the truck thinks you're stopping to park. It's based on speed, not surroundings. I believe your triggered alert is this issue.

This finally happened to me tonight. We are having some cold weather in Pennsylvania. That said, this is the first I've seen it and I've had the truck since early January 2025. Very intermittent error message only when stopped or nearly stopped. The first couple times I didn't even see the message before it vanished and I only heard the tone.
