Gas mileage

25 ramger xl, 2.3 w 5k miles.
I do al.ost no highway driving. Daily driving 45 mph speed limits. Lits of stop and go at times. The dash is showing 20.8 recently. Hand calculated closer to 19.5 mog. On 1 short road trip but traffic on inte rstate(Atlanta) i got 26.5. This truck hasn't been over 120 mi from home yet, that will change. My 14 camry ,4cl gets 25ish around home
I have saw 35 mpflg on the rd. So I think my mileage around home on truck is vety good snd it gets advertised mpg prb better on the road. My mpg increased on the road around 5k also.

It is actually 13.33 mpg. I have almost 10K miles on mine and have my Trip 2 from the get go and I'm averaging 16.7 mpg.

Ok Thanks Dre' Dawg, but 13- 16.7 still seems low unless that is rush hour city commuting traffic. I put larger tires ( 265 70 17 ) on my 24 stx 4×4 2.3L and I'm getting 23.6 on the highway. I may be giving up 1 or 2 mpg with the larger tires and i did not have my gage recalibrated.

We did a 6866 mile trip that involved a lot of off road trails. Also saw triple digits on the Speedo many times in “Mexico.” See the display. I set trip 2 to 0 when we left Charlotte NC.
I was pleased with the 19.7 considering the speeds driven and a lot of western states have an 80+ mph limit.
The Raptor has a few mods and is tuned. It’s 480 rwhp and 536 rw torque.
Plus we carried a portable refrigerator, chairs, clothes and many tools so it had a load.

I have a ‘24 STX 4x4, 46k miles. I read somewhere that running the start/stop on increased mpg. I have been trying that, driving eco mode, and getting 25-26 mpg. This over the last 3 months. Funny thing is that the start/stop only engages maybe 20% of the time I stop.

I am also getting 26.4 mpg in my 2024 2.3L XLT. I keep it in eco mode 100% with auto shut off enabled. I drive 96 miles a day in hilly CT on 66% highways. I also set cruise control to no more than 1 mph over the limit! Hypermiling!
I love that I can get this good of mpg.

Here in Commiefornie with the "special blend" of summer gas 91 octane - 2025 RR with Tune - I average around 12.9 - 13.5 around town. Did a road trip to Pismo Beach a couple weekends ago and averaged about 17.5 with mostly freeway driving. I think I hit 20 one time on a trip to Yosemite BEFORE the tune was installed.

BUT

I didn't buy the truck for its gas mileage.

We do the Red Mirror Off Road Events (google it please) and of the 35K miles on the R Raptor I bet half have been doing the Red Mirror Events. A spring and fall trail ride and the southwest trip for 6600 miles last year. this year a spring ride, the just completed out west ride and another fall trail ride in October. We have had a blast with this Raptor!

I went 80 miles and almost 1/2 a tank flat freeway driving nice Wife was in the truck
2 motorcycles in the back A little head wind on the way back .
Ford Performance tune . Mileage on the dash said I was getting 17 mpg.
Here in commiefornia 91 is $6.00 a gal. I have 2200 miles on the truck

I’ve been getting 14 miles per gallon on average since I bought it. Mostly a mix of highway and in town driving. I live in Cali so the gas here sucks! Every time I see people getting 18 mpg or more I know right away they don’t live here. Engine is stock, and moving up to 34” tires made no difference.
But like others have said, I didn’t buy it for the gas mileage!

2024 2.5L Lariat everything stock - 21.5 average City/Highway. Terrein here in Southern Michigan/North Indiana is mostly flat to rolling. However when I use 90 Oct. it jumps to 23. This is driving in normal mode. Will try echo and see where it goes from there - though i do have a heavy foot! There is 24K on the odo.

Car and Driver’s long term test for the Raptor yielded 14 mpg. I have a 2.7L and am getting about 24.5 mpg avg. My best for a highway trip is 28.7 mpg. and in (rare) suburban use it’s around 20 mpg. Note I typically get significantly better efficiency than my spouse. We had an Explorer ST (same drivetrain as the Raptor) and I could nudge 30 mpg. hwy., whereas she struggles to get 25 mpg.

I do roughly 70/30 highway/street, and if I stick it in eco and drive conservatively (including ~71-74mph highway) I can get around 23 mpg overall. As you say, it can almost crack 30mpg on the highway.

My RR gets about 15.5mpg overall (3" perch collar lift + 35x12.5 C-load tires + roof rack)
