Gen 6 Ranger is not a priority for ARB

Having a Gen 6 Ranger I have found that aftermarket vendors have been slow or nonexistent to having products for these owners. I recently wrote ARB about upcoming availability of bumpers and other products from ARB and this was their response to my inquiry,

I'm in the process of making my own mounting bracket for under hood mounting of an ARB compressor since there are currently no US options. Will make a thread with pics when finished.

Pirate Camp won't ship to the US and their New Zealand vendor says shipping will cost more than the nearly $300 they retail it for bringing it to over $600 plus they will not guarantee it will fit the US Rangers. So decided to make my own.

Heck even Yakima is sitting out on the new Ranger…. At the launch, the issue with bed rail strength/stability (J-braces required) still hasn’t been cleared to use their Overhaul HD bed rack. “No Fittment” if you select it as an accessory and the rep told me that’s still the case even though the design has been resolved with the bed now strong enough from the factory (no longer requiring J-brace alteration)

I’m not sure what the date was when Ford started shipping them with the revised design?

It's because the Ranger is not a priority for Ford. They don't make enough of them for a thriving aftermarket existence. Toyota sells way more trucks in the US and has a huge aftermarket. The reverse is true in Australia, the Ranger is a bestseller and has a huge aftermarket there. I think I have seen two other Gen6 Rangers in the 7 months I've had my truck.

Where I live I see one atleast every week. If the Bronco did not exist we would not have a Ranger here that is what Ford thinks of the Ranger. Ford does not offer any special financing at all on the Rangers still. I just hope the Bronco keeps selling so we can get a Ranger long into the future in NA.

I am sure in NA distributors were not happy the 5G went for 3years?.
Now the 6G is run for 3 years then revamp in 2027.
ARB has aftermarket equipment for the 6G, distributors are not purchasing parts for NA market. Even Ford in AU sells ARB parts. If you ran the models for the 10 year cycles in NA then you would get aftermarket parts.

It's a bit maddening. ARB Austrailia has a ton of options for our trucks because they worked directly with Ford during the truck's design phase to make almost anything you can imagine for the 6G Ranger launch over there.

But for whatever reason, ARB USA has no desire to import the Ranger product from AU, even after many of us here have inquired about when they might for the last 2 years now.

I know there are some slight differences between NA and RoW because one of the bash plate manufacturers had to change their design slightly, but there can't be that many differences that none of this existing product is viable to be shipped over.

What's more maddening is that ARB USA has a press release from Jan 11, 2024 bragging about the collaboration with Ford and developing a SEMA vehicle for them. They have pictures of all the parts, but not a single piece is available. Something I point out every chance I get on their social media accounts...

There's lot's of NA manufactures that have parts for the 5G but do not wish to make parts for 6G. If you can get parts manufactured the lead time is lengthy.

I found the part # for arb dual battery kit, Now Im in canada, and shipping was only 100 bucks canadian for me. but I was able to order the dual battery kit. And it did fit, without any major issues!! I did have to clearance the airbox bracket by like less then 1/2x1/4". I have a thread on it I think. also our trucks are designed for the arb twin bed mount compressor. thats the 8 dimples on the passenger side of the bed. sourcing a seller that will ship to states in one thing for yee.

Idk if there are any forwarding services in canada that could get you the kit and then shipping from canada. to you. but may end up with double carrot man tax charged.

2019-2023 is not 3 years. lol and the switch was to make the 6g part of one of the first for their globalization plans. 1 model world wide, parts from au will fit eu will fit na and so on. the only major differences being aome trim levels and lhd vs rhd. I have aussie arb dual battery kit on my canadian(us built) ranger

What's really infuriating is all those accessories are on a US spec Lariat. When I emailed ARB about 6 months ago I got the same TBD response. At that time Ironman did sound more hopeful anyway. But I think all the accessory manufacturers realize that Ford hates this truck and they don't want to invest the funds needed to launch a series of products for a truck that just isn't going to see nearly the market that the Tacoma has.

Nice! Colorado is the land of Toyota Tacomas and 4Runners by a HUGE margin. You can't throw a rock without hitting a Tacoma. Seriously. It's ridiculous. Next most common is probably GMC twins or Nissan Frontier. Not too many 5G Rangers either, but plenty of older Rangers.

I recently sent them a message asking about a Ford Performance ARB bumper like the one for the previous generation truck.

"There are plans to manufacture a bumper for the current gen Rangers, not the Raptor trim. I have a very rough ETA of late next year. "

yes but in terms of absolute numbers, there are more rangers sold in North America than Europe or Australia

well at least this year they will sell more.

I still think that the Ranger gen6 is every bit as good as its competitors and should be at least in second place in North America in terms of sales.
