Hi Everyone,
I have had my XLT FX4 2.3L since May of 2024. I currently have about 1900 miles on it (work from home so don't drive it much).
About a month ago as the weather started getting colder here in CO. I started noticing hard downshifts (I think it's between second and first gear) when coming to a stop. This only seems to happen a single time when the truck is first started up after sitting and gets cold. I have only noticed it in the cold, it never happened over the summer.
Yesterday was the harshest downshift yet... I was approaching a stop sign and was slowing down and the truck downshifted so hard that it actually felt like someone rearended us at low speed. It was actually jarring inside the cabin. I was the only one on the road, so I wasn't rear-ended
.
Has anyone experienced this and know what it might be? I am considering taking it into the dealer, but I'm afraid I will just get the runaround with the typical... "Could not reproduce" response, I'm sure.
