Did you guys use the thick “waterproof sponge” or 2 layers of the thin along the top of the bed at the cab? The thick one seems like it might be too thick. The 2 thin ones look too thin. Seems like it might need 3 layers of the thin…

Just picked the thick one. Crossing my fingers.

Do these brackets look right?

They do not, but i can't say for sure. The way you can tell is to slide the bed side into the slot. The top face with the oblong hole should at lease be flush with the top of the plastic bed protector, as in the picture. If they are not, they will pull down on the cover from below, distorting it, as they are attached.

Also, the side screws with the plastic hats should reach the side of the bed when screwed in.

Thanks for your help. I requested the other brackets through Amazon. We'll see what happens. I guess I need to take the thing off my truck if I want to drive it. Ugh...

@RangerDangerStranger how did you contact them? I’ve had no response on Amazon so far.
I am not the one you asked, but I emailed them to the email address they have printed in the instruction manual. They replied the next day and then shipped the spacers for the brackets (see my post with the picture above) and updated longer screws. Once I installed them, the cover operated smoothly.

The only thing I noticed is that on the recent offroad trip I had to drive a couple of hours of washboards and the nuts became a bit loose, good thing I had the tools with me so it was a quick fix. I think some blue Loctite might be in order for those nuts.

I didn't, i got the Brackets from Dsampson as he had gotten an extra set. Spacers work apparently with longer screws, only thing i might recommend is to epoxy the spacers to the top of the brackets. The less moving/sliding parts the better. CF
