Has anyone found a good cold air intake for the RR? Is it safe for the engine?

I’m looking to upgrade the cold air intake from S&B filters. I saw a post on here with a Fabulous Fabrications one but it’s a little pricey. Haven’t found much more online.

Will this affect anything when I get the ford performance tune?

from what I ready online it’s 50/50 with people saying after market cold air takes are good others saying it can be bad for your engine.

I wouldn’t say it’s bad for your engine.

But without being able to tune the ECU to actually use the increased and colder airflow to make more power, it won’t actually do much.

This is confirmed on their YouTube channel where they test on a dyno back to back runs with the stock and their cold air intake. The results are only a few HP difference as the ECU will keep power in check so the engine always produces the quoted power.

Where this will help is probably on back to back pulls, it’ll probably keep the temps down and will take slower to heat soak than the stock intake - but a bigger intercooler with will probably gain better results there than the cold air intake

Wouldn't the intercooler have the same problem if ECU isn't tuned properly?

Larger intercooler decreases heat soak so it can keep it on full power for multiple pulls. On the stock intercooler the power actually starts to drop off by the third pull

Intakes do help these trucks, even without tuning specifically for it, you'll see gains.

Do any of them increase induction/spool noise? Cant hear much, if anything stock.
Most of them do. Anything with an open box will boost noise a ton
