I have one month and 800 miles on my 2024 XLT and I like it.
I came from a 2019 that I owned for 5.5 years and 63,000 miles and I loved that truck.
Hopefully this new one will give me that same warm and fuzzy feeling, so far, so good.
After 5.5 years I still looked back at it after walking away, and I do the same with the 2024.

Can you please explain how 0-60 in 6.5 is quicker than 6.2 seconds? I agree that the neither vehicle is slow, but I think you should be confident to line up against your wife's Jeep in a drag race. Especially since you have a 4x2 STX, your truck is light and should be a relative 2.3L rocket!
Well, kinda too early for me to pass judgement, I barely have 225 miles on my 6G STX 4x4, but compared to my 5G STX 4x4 FX4, which drove like an ape on meth in D and a total Lunatic in S mode, the 6G seems slightly detuned in "normal" mode, compared to my old one...I got smoked at a traffic light by a 5G tacoma this morning. Granted I got a bad start but stayed even with it to about 45, I took my foot off the gas and let him win...that would have NOT happened in my old black beast...that thing would chirp tires in second and third when given the boot. So give it some time to break in and see if there is redemption.

I'm coming up on a year with my XLT FX4 (April 19 if I recall correctly) and 12,000 miles. For me, it's mediocre (I'd give it a 3 out of 5, maybe 3.5).

The good - decent ride for a truck, not bad mileage (I have the 2.3L), tows my little camp trailer great, I like the looks of it, so far pretty good off road (I don't do anything too aggressive)

The bad - the seat is bad for me (I"ve posted about this as have others). It's very uncomfortable on long drives. Currently using a towel to help fill the "hole" but I plan to try more formal solutions. The parking sensors go crazy sometimes (seemingly because of direct sunlight?!?). I find the brakes not quite powerful enough, or at least the power increases too nonlinearly compared to other vehicles I've had.

The (almost) ugly. The transmission is very bad - rough up- and down-shifts in the lowest gears. This does get much better after it warms up, but it's really bad in the first few minutes. I need to get the thing looked at.

I'm tempted to move on to another vehicle but nothing really attracts me - the Tacoma has its issues (and 4Runner may as well). The Land Cruiser is too expensive. The Frontier seems fine but isn't worth the cost to trade out. And I don't want a full size truck. So I'll probably keep going with my Ranger for another year at least.
That‘s not much of a Likert scale. Two of the options are negative. A 5 point scale would have allowed for a better expression of opinions with the middle point being neutral opinions.

As for the truck, I love it so far. Like most here I have a small list of things that need improvement and a small list of things I would like to change as a matter of personal opinion, but not that hasn’t already been mentioned by others. Other than those items I would say it’s one of the most unique, fun vehicles I’ve owned. 🍻

I drive both very regularly. The acceleration is very different between the two. I will go weigh the wrangler today so we can know the numbers but her is a sport s with the soft top so it was very light when we got it. It does have bumpers and steps now, though so weighing will be good. I will check her gearing too, maybe she has 4.10s like her last 4 door and our other wranger has?

I wish my gtech mount didnt disintegrate so i could get some runs in amd then i could know if my butt dyno is off from having skin cancer recently (yes, right under the belt line on the left side and i now have a big 3.5 inch scar so maybe my accelerometer is off, ha ha ha)

I've had my 25 RR for about a month and absolutely love it. Traded my Bronco in due to needing a truck bed often. I absolutely loved the Bronco but it has been really nice having a quiet ride on the highway. The truck is really comfortable, drives great on road and on the couple trails I've hit so far. It's just a blast to drive basically anywhere. Overall very happy so far.
Which Bronco did you have? It's interesting that RR has better road manners.

I've been involved with a fair amount of social research in my work and quite like the three-choice scale. When you offer 5, often almost everybody says 3 or 4. This forces you to make a more difficult choice and it is telling that overwhelmingly people in this forum chose "really good." Granted, I'm guessing most people here are fans of the truck, so it's a biased self-selection, but still...92%!

I had a 4dr Black Diamond with the Sasquatch package. It drove well on road just not as well the RR. I think from a handful of reviews I watched folks said the RR has probably the best road manners of any truck outside the F150 Raptor.

Uh oh, butt dyno appears to be broken. I took the jeep and weighed it and it is unbelievably heavy but i geuss all the aftermarket metal bumpers and metal skid plates add up, even though she has the soft top and windows. She likes the offroad look even though its never even been on a gravel road.

Anyways, i downloaded a 0-60 timer and ran the jeep and now will do the truck. I also filled the jeep up so it would be as equal as could be, minus the ranger having the procal tuner on it. I can't really put anything like that on the wrangler but since its got that hybrid system, that makes up for it because the hybrid wrangler blows the doors off the non- hybrid wranglers.

I will post screen shots once i am done, but just some fore warning, it looks like you guys are right, the ranger might feel slower but numbers wise it might actually be faster.

You get can Jeep window stickers here for free using the VIN - Window Sticker Lookup by VIN

My 2019 Sport S with the e-torq had 3.45 gearing.

Popping the 2.7 into sport mode is pretty funny... I'm coming from a 2023 M2, so I'm used to some power, but the torque on this little monster is pretty good :)

Rate the truck a 9/10, some little standard american car quality crap going on, but it's everything I could have hope for :)

I love my ranger. I give it 4.5 out of 5 because no driver grab handle and how it skips second gear when shifting because its programmed to do that junk. I hate that skip shifting because it feels so odd and does it more when the trans is cold. I always push the shift button so i can see the gears and watch it skip 2nd if i am light on the gas until it wamrs up.

Other then those two things, i love the truck. My wife loves it and we cannot wsit till july when we are going out of state to see our oldest son (army) and are taking the ranger. The ranger is more comfortable then the wife's 2019 wrsmgler 4 door and gets very similar gas mileage. Her jeep is quicker though because the wrangler has that turbo 2.0 liter alfa romeo engine in it.

I almost got a tacoma but they cost to much and i would have gotten a frontier but i just had a 2017 titan and know all to well the electronic issues on the forums for the new nissan trucks. The titan, frontier, and the armada/qx80 share the same transmission.

But the ranger i still love and have si ce my grandpa had a full size when i was a kid and my dad used them for our plumbing company trucks when i was in high scholl and first got out of the army. The small dependable solid mid 80s to 2011 rangers. I still have an 04 ranger stepside i use as a junkyard and hardware store truck.

EDIT: i have to add one other thing i hate! the non-adjustable head rest. you have to lay the seat so far back in order for the headrest to not push your head downwards or turn the headrest backwards. then its no good in an accident
My former '23 Tacoma had intrusive headrests. I removed the driver's headrest and bent the poles to tilt it rearward. Didn't take much. Might give that a try for your headrest.

I was wonder if i could donit without it causing an issue going into the slots in the seat? Did you just put it in a vise or something?

24 Ranger xlt FX4 2.3. I'm just about a year in and just over 3000 miles. (I have a agency supplied vehicle for most of my driving). I do drive a lot of regular and medium sized commercial trucks.

I like just about everything, but

my cons are:
  • the screen is perverse and does what it wants, mostly asking about a trailer when I'm not towing. It's been a bit tricky to set up my iPhone so it finds it every time I use the truck.
  • The motor when cold sounds like a CARB-compliant lawnmower.
  • I wish the bed reinforcement brackets were easier to install and the bed rails were a bit easier to add a rack.
  • Could be a bit quieter in the cab, but I've made some easy improvements to block wind and road noise and now it's more than acceptable.
Pros:
  • I like the climate controls once we figured them out
  • the camera system is really great
  • The trailer assist features are great
  • I like the cruise control system, especially how it slows down and up for the speed limit
  • It's sure footed, but I haven't had it in snow, I don't think the tires are good for ice. I've had it off road a bit.
  • I'm happy with the gas mileage

Mediocre, by definition, would be 2.5 out of 5.
I'm actually surprised at how good it is. XLT FX4 2.3.
I'd give it a 4+.
