Hey guys first time posting here so apologies if in the wrong section, figured id throw up a post as when i was doing research to carry out the upgrade there wasnt must specific info, recently carried out a cluster upgrade on my next gen ranger wildtrak v6 instrument cluster from the standard 8 inch unit to the larger 12 inch from a wrecked raptor as there was no specific details on the requirements of what to do i figured id put up a thread on what worked for me and others can add in if they have any tricks or changes that work for them, im self taught on forscan so please forgive if i use the wrong terminology
Sourced a low mileage cluster from a wrecked raptor

*Im unsure if there is a better way to do this, im self taught with forscan just putting what i done to get working*

1 - backed up standard 8 inch cluster asbuilt data

2 - remove 8 inch cluster and replace with raptor one

3 - backed up raptor cluster asbuilt data

4 - flashed raptor cluster with standard cluster asbuilt data
5 - enabled baja mode and disabled eco mode in abs module

6 - done a cluster odometer flash so dash matches my cars klms ( please note from what i can find you can only flash upward klms not under I grabbed a cluster with 10k on the clock and flashed it to match my 48k so grab a cluster accordingly )

At this point for mysef cluster was working but tachometer was not unsure if it will be the case for everyone but i had to then enable tacho in the ipc configuration

Noteable mentions unsure if this will be the case for everyone but just my experience - ( australian ranger V6 wildtrak diesel)

I had to enable a number of items in the ipc configuration to gain full functionality not sure why they were disabled (possible that the second hand cluster had changes made prior to my purchase) -
had to enable door open warning
Had to then enable a few gauges for the full raptor measurments page and configurable my gauges options
Also turned on dpf gauge as my wildtrak is a v6 diesel

Only thing i havent been able to get to work is on my previous 8 inch cluster i was able to turn on and access menus for cruise control, lighting and such from the centre cluster / radio settings and access through the instrument cluster / ipc from the steering wheel buttons first world problem as on a standard ranger you cant so this anyway but if anyone has any pointers or fixes for that please let me know

You also have engine and battery warning lights present.

There is a thread on this previously where they were sourcing them from Australia. As I recall, it was somewhere around $1500. Guy could apparently match your odometer settings. Too rich for my blood though.

I’ve just done my V6 wildtrak, used a breaker sourced 3.0 raptor clock set.
It worked without any changes but is now coded, works really well.
Only thing I can’t get working (yet) is oil pressure gauge and still have the raptor page, which is pretty useless.
So I don’t select them in displays

So I found a 12" screen from a wrecked Lariat for $380... so it looks like I'll be giving this a try soon. Looks to be almost identical to my truck: Same year, FX4, 2.3L, and lower mileage, so here's hoping that makes it easier to configure.

Hurts to see one like this, but based on the VIN this is the truck it's from. https://autobidcar.com/car/ford-ranger-lariat-2024-1fter4kh9rle11060

Should try and grab the upper glove box if it is still available.

I actually already have the upper glovebox, I was literally the last to get one before the price shot up. If someone else wants to ask about it though this was the seller https://www.ebay.com/str/lkqonline they have a few other parts from that VIN (it's in the link above), but I didn't see the glovebox on the list so they may still have it.

Ok, so after a roundabout saga somewhat fueled by AI nonsense I think I have this working... I restored my IPC data to the new cluster and the RPM and configurable gauges (boost, oil pressure, etc.) didn't work... AI said it was because I didn't hook up the second connector which carries the engine data, and that the connector was there, but tucked away. After tearing everything back apart and digging around more I confirmed the connector is in fact NOT there, but after watching videos of Australian 12" cluster swaps (like the video below) I confirmed that they don't connect that connector either and their gauges seem to work fine.

Then I started poking around in Forscan per the OP's post and enabled the tach, but still wasn't getting the other optional gauges.

I'm going to give https://www.compulsivecode.com/Project_AsBuiltCompare.aspx a crack and see if I can get a better picture of the differences between the clusters to figure out what to change back.

So I went through the asbuilt comparison and switched anything pertaining to gauges back to what the Lariat had and now all the optional gauges appear to work! Woohoo! (This was with the engine off, so pardon the engine and battery icons being on and everything being at 0).
Ford Ranger Instrument cluster upgrade from 8" to 12" using Forscan (my DIY) 1784334193404-xs

Couple small scratches show here, but I can't see them while driving at all. (Plus this was before I wiped it down, I suspect most of these came off).

The cluster is VERY different... Even the turn signal noise has changed lol. (It feels more "premium", but a lot quieter... not sure I like that. I can't even hear it with the windows down...) I'm also not sure I like how small the driver assistance screen is. On the 8" cluster you could have both driver assistance and the fuel economy up at the same time and they'd roughly split the screen, but now the assistance icon is much smaller. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.
