If you were going to purchase an intercooler, which one would it be?

I purchased the COBB intercooler and couldn’t be happier. There were no modifications required, and the installation took me less than thirty minutes. I ended up with overall lower IAT, and much quicker recovery from heat soak at idle. I would definitely recommend the COBB intercooler.

I’ll say the same thing, except I chose the cvf. Seems to be quality kit…

I was looking at the CVF intercooler. Can’t find any instructions. Description says bolt on direct replacement, only have to remove the active grille shutters. Is that remove as in they don’t get reused or do you put them back on?

Never mind . If anyone else is curious, I found this video on removing the active shutters and securing the motor for it. It’s for bronco, but should be about the same.

I’d like to know which is the best intercooler that can be installed without modifications, while keeping the same piping. I also noticed that Turbosmart is now offering an intercooler.

Did you notice any increased turbo lag from installing an IC?

I went with the CV Fab and haven’t noticed any additional lag. I have noticed a difference in the A/C cooling which is weird

I went with CVF because of the price. It does suck that they don’t include instructions but if you have experience with tools it’s not too bad. I wish I would’ve had time to record the install cause it is easy but I didn’t remove the active shutter bracket. I only remove the shutters them selves. I’ll see if I can get a picture. Very easy to do and the motor and bracket stay in its location. So now all you always see is the intercooler.

It’s a simple install. Dropping the tow hooks makes the install less than 20 minutes

Did you remove the front bumper?

Here’s a view without the shutters. Easy to pop out and leave actuator in place and it doesn’t disturb the new intercooler.

Awesome. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the install process should go as follows on 24-25 ranger raptor:

1- remove front skid plate
2- remove front tow hooks/intercooler bracket
3-disconnect intercooler piping and remove intercooler
4-flex the active shutters to remove them from their mounts without removing brackets or motor
5-swap out mount rubbers to new intercooler
6-reinstall everything

I saw there is maybe another baffle on the back side of the intercooler too that gets reinstalled?
