Not sure if all the Rangers went up by the same $105 that the Raptors did, but the factory installation of these braces could explain the price increase that occurred late last year.
Hopefully that's what the increase is. I know the base Lariat went up a couple hundred bucks here is Canada.

Wow, snow on a tonneau cover can weigh more than 88lb.

I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere in the manual of needing this bracket which seemed strange. I must of missed it somewhere

@Ford Motor Company are you able to answer whether these load box reinforcement kits will need to be purchased and installed separately on US trucks or are they going to ship them pre-installed from factory?

Yes, here is the clip at 1:28:17:

They call it "load box reinforcement kit" but it sounds a lot like the J-braces. Only they mention it for "extreme offroad" and didn't say anything about weight above the bed rails.
Re watched this and it seems like it was worded to say that there are select VINs that will be affected and these will be posted once the vehicles are “produced.” If you add a vehicle to your ford pass account, there is a section for open recalls and customer satisfaction programs on your VIN. Seems like once we start seeing green check marks under built, people will see if their build is affected. As in production still, mine isn’t showing a CSP.

In looking at the J-Brace that Ford designed for the Ranger to stiffen the structure of the box I see that it is a substantial piece of metal, very strong, and as such must have a purpose. I suspect that the box structure without the J-Brace will be perfectly fine for most owners but how embarrassing for Ford to have some of these new Rangers with sheet metal cracking on the box because of a weak structure. Am sure hoping my new Ranger will come with the J-Brace installed as I drive on some rough roads and am going to add a Topper on the box.

So the way it sounds, only if you buy a "ford licensed accessory bedcap", you get a $160 refund for the "reinforcement kit" and they waive the cost of labor. Am I hearing that right?

So basically if you order something not through Ford or you just want to be safe and install the "reinforcement kit" without any cap, it sounds like you're on the hook for the "reinforcement kit" + labor costs.
That's what I understand

It's not too hard too install, I didn't use the rivets and drilled/tapped the hole for a M8x1.25 fender bolt/washer from Lowes. I didn't even cut the corner piece all the way out. Just used a hand nibbler on top of the corner and bent it in. I think the they only want that piece cut out is so the nut plate can be pushed up in there.
