Exactly! Could someone please clarify why this situation is not classified as a recall from Ford? I'm curious, especially since my understanding is that new trucks from the factory have a Ford engineered solution to this issue.
Ford classified mine as "field service action/recall. See below.

For the record called one dealer and they said I had to buy a ford accessory to get the brackets installed at no cost. Called another and they said I could get them put on at no cost. Was honest with them and said I had a roll n lock I wanted to put on. So check around if any give ya guys fits. Now just waiting on the parts

The J-Braces to stiffen the front corners of the box are some pretty substantial pieces of iron, am guessing they weigh 3 to 4 lbs each. After reading the instructions it looks like this is not going to be an easy project. Installing the J-Braces themselves shouldn't be hard but removing the wheel well liners and reinstalling looks to be the hardest part as it requires a rivetnut tool and drilling out rivets. Am going to do it but not looking forward to it. The Lariat has not arrived yet, it's on the rail somewhere.

I attached this earlier. Maybe in another thread. I addressed this issue with my new xlt fx4 purchased two weeks ago. My Ford dealer inspected the vehicle and acknowledged it needed J braces. (Not all 2024 models need them). The installed at no cost.

I have one
I bitched enough to my dealer that these should have come from the factory already installed. Even explained the issues of not having them. Told them the engineers messed up big time on this aspect. This is a truck and it should be able to be utilized as a truck right from the factory. They purchased/installed for free. Told them to paint/seal ANY cut components for protection. They did.

You're lucky, my dealer would not do anything for me, had to fight for everything. Even the stickers for the trailer tow assist, first told me that I have to buy stickers separately until I mention I had a friend get stickers with hi, so they finally caved in, But I gave up and will go to another dealer ship

You Do have the updated bed.

Bed Corner.jpg
I’m new to the forum and new to Ranger ownership (picked up my Lariat 2.7 last week which door jam says was manufactured 10/24). I was aware of potential carry issue, asked at time of sale and my dealer said they knew nothing and there were no open recalls on my truck. I just crawled under, looked up at spot indicated in photo preceding and see the same bed bolts so believe I’m good. Thanks for posting information. I’ve learned a lot about my truck before and after purchase reading everyone’s contributions. I was on the fence about trading my ‘21 Tundra but convinced myself the new Ranger, especially with the 2.7 could handle my TT and would be a much better daily driver. Love it so far, especially fun in sport mode but mostly drive eco as live in VT so are top speed limited to 50 mph when we occasionally find macadam

I ordered my j braces 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting. Im getting really fed up with this. I may just get the egr braces if they still haven't shipped in a week. Ford really fucked this up.
