I’m waiting for the Job 2 orders to start, so I can get that 2.7. ( I just know I'm going to end up waiting till 2025) 🤬.
And I was googling away at what exactly "Job 2" is, and was kind of surprised at how extensive some of the mid-year changes can be on other trucks such as the F-150s.
Are any of you hoping for Ford to correct any oversights/features from the job 1 options?
I’m personally hoping they offer the heated steering wheel in the XLT. (GM offers it on the Colorado LT's and every trim of the Canyons... FFS)

Is there anything in the options or features you haven't liked or think should be an option in your ordering process, besides the wait, so far?

cooled seats in addition to the heated. but i don't expect that to be added in all honesty. I do hope they continue to omit that stupid auto start stop feature i read is showing removed on the current MY24

It seems like Ford usually takes away options rather than adding them in Job 2. One past example is going from 6 bed tie downs to 4.

I personally wish the XLT came with push button start. I see them adding that in a couple years or at least for the mid cycle refresh. That was my biggest compromise with deciding on this truck.

WHAT?!?! .... WTF It doesn't? I thought the XLT had push button start.
🤬 There are garbage cars with push button start... Hell my 16-year-old Niece has a used Rav4 with push button start. And Ford won't offer it in a new $40-45k truck?

Lariat and Raptor have it as standard. However, it’s not available as an option on either the XL or XLT.

I wish push button start was optional. I would have opted out of it on my Raptor. I know I'm in the minority but I never cared for it on the old lady's Escape.

More than four years ago I would have agreed with you. I’ve never had it on one of my vehicles, but when I drove a couple different vehicles with it some years back I did not like it. However, I’ve extensively driven a Jeep Grand Cherokee with it the last few years and man my opinion completely changed.

It’s so nice never having to mess with the keys, and they can just stay in your pocket without a second thought. Your hands are always completely free, and you just touch the handle and it unlocks itself. It’s nice. I was really looking forward to getting it for my next vehicle but alas my XLT won’t have it. I think it should be included in the technology package if nothing else.

All that to say you might not like it on the Escape, but keep an open mind for your Raptor. I didn’t like it on some prior vehicles I tried but love it on the GC.

I will have to agree with " Gator21 ", I was never a fan of the push button start, thought it was odd when I bought the wife's expedition but I rarely ever drove it accept to go fill it up with gas for her, then i got my little maverick that has it, after getting use to it first week or so I'll never go back to keys. So much so that once the 2.7L in the ranger is available I will be ordering the lariat primarily for 3 reasons (push button start, b/o radio and power sliding rear window). I could easily be happy with an xlt but I not going back to keys. But to each their own. Everyone has opinions and preferences.

I have been in a RAM last 10 years with the "knob" transmission. Think I will be reaching there a few times in the Ranger before the "doh" moment that it's on the floor now.

Ya, I thought push button was the dumbest thing ever thought up, then I got stuck with one for a month..... It took a bit but, it changed my mind.

Agree. I like the value of the XLT but no push button is a really silly 'feature' to hold back. Basically I can have up to a 12 inch touch screen but no push button start.

They need some way to differentiate between xlt and lariat. You already get so much as it is with the xlt.

The midsize competitors Tacoma, Colorado, and Canyon come with it standard on all trims. That’s why I think Ford will reverse course in a couple years or by the time the mid cycle refresh hits to either offer it standard or at least as an option on the XLT.

It’s a balancing act to offer different features to try to upsell customers to a more expensive model while also not losing customers. Some customers might make the choice to buy a Tacoma or GM to get that option standard versus opting for a high trim Lariat.

That could be said about most features. If Push button start drives someone to another truck, than they didn't really want the ranger imo...
