Mine is only 10 degrees off.
I live in Florida. Actual air temp at that time was upper 80s. It showed 132 when I started it. After about 5 mins driving it dropped 100 and stayed there. So I would say mine is also off around 10 degrees once it gets some airflow.

My guess is a batch of slightly out of calibration temp sensors got past QA if the consensus is that it's fine when cold, but wacko when hot out.

Could be. I’ve only had my Ranger for about a month and haven’t experienced any temperatures lower than upper 80s yet.

We have had low 100s here snd mine was fine so those built when the braces were fist added to the neds should be good. Mine was built a few days or a week after the bed brace thing became a part of the build

I’m in Florida also. 10 degrees would be my guess also after driving it around a bit from the closed up sitting in the direct sun reading.
I have had mine about 14 months, park in the same place. I don’t remember temperature readings anywhere near these last year.

Not to change the subject but what is that display? Is that what you see with the 360 degree camera option in the Technology package? What is the little white vehicle behind the Ranger with the dotted lines and arrows next to it?

I replaced the AAT sensor trying to fix issue. I would guess irs a software issue ford hasn’t addressed.
Wondering if the AAT sensor is located within the engine air intake somewhere?

1st World Problems - remember when trucks didn’t tell you the outside temp and a/c was a luxury item. Had an ‘86 Bronco (full size) no a/c & you had idea the outside temp because there were no cell phones. Started to overheat - all you had were those state of the art “Wing Windows”! Cracks those bad boys open and aim them just right directly at your crot..…lap! HA!

but seriously a -5 delta always seems about the sweet spot on just about every make & model I’ve owned. These aren’t precision instruments and most of the time the sensor lives behind the windshield which acts like a magnifying fishbowl if you will.

There is a simple solution: Buy a Ranger XL, which does not display the outside temperature (interestingly, it has the sensor; Ford just punishes you for buying poverty spec).
