ProCal Tune for Ranger Raptors in California?

Which dealership is this?

I received my ProCal on Wednesday and I have called 5 of the local dealers in Orange County and 4 of them said they won't do it and didn't have a good answer as to why. 1 Dealership said they would do it for $1000 for in the install alone (thanks a bunch Ford Puente Hills!!!) Several dealerships told me Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park might be a good option as they have a performance department but I have called them 3 times and gotten no response.

At this point, I am planning on going the ASE route as the dealerships seem worthless (no big surprise!). Going to make some calls to today to see if I can find a shop locally.

Would love to hear if anyone in Orange County has found a place to get the install done!

My ProCal arrives Wed, so attempting to secure a clear/confirmed 'installer' ahead of time.

I'm close to Ken Grody, so may swing by this weekend to explore, if & how much for install.

That said, thinkin' ASE path is the way-to-go...likely most convenient, less hassle, lower cost approach. Since FP allows this alternative with only a 'ASE cert' as invoice proof.

I submitted my paperwork - ASE shop invoice, proof of purchase, Voucher ID and VIN# this morning to [email protected] and received message within the hour confirming "VIN is now registered for the FPP warranty".

@boraxman great result, thx for sharing...coupla questions:

1. Did you do any 'self pre-work' for readiness
   [ie use of owned laptop, downloads OR simply show-up and allow ASE shop to do entire process?
2. Care to share ASE shop fee [for comparative purposes]?

turns out they are not ASE certified (Super Service of Aliso Viejo)........bummer......now I need to unistall and find an ASE mechanic to "reinstall"......

I had the exact some problem...EVERY Ford dealer in OC, CA said NO....this is just plain BS!!!.....why can't they install a SIMPLE Ford performance tune/part??.....THIS is why everyone HATES the damn stealerships.......zero customer service & a pain to deal with!!!

Likely takin my 'whip & tablet' to fav BMW performance shop...know I can trust those guys ?

Quick Update: Finally got a hold of Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park and said they will do it for $175. I have an appointment to get it installed next week.

Also every ASE I called to do the install asked "Why won't the dealership do it?" and "If the dealership won't do it, I won't do it. I talked to 6 or 7 ASE's locally and all of them refused to do the install. It's ridicules!

nice to know they're reasonable with their price!...I called them twice & never got a call back....I'll keep calling them & stop in if I have too!...I'll "uninstall" the tune and have them "reinstall" it so I can register them damn thing with Ford Performance......how sad we have to almost "beg" a dealer to install a FORD part just to get the warranty AND it's not like we're in BFE...this is Orange County, CA with tons of dealers!......THIS is part of the problem with FORD.....zero customer support!!

I checked out my local Ford dealerships Southbay Ford and Autonation Ford. Both do not install any Ford performance parts. I reached out to Galpin Ford but they farm out their performance install to Galpin Autosport. Might have to check out Ken Grody next.

For sh**'s & grins...asked dealer purchased RR for a quote to install ProCal
[Norm Reeves Ford]...their written response was $321
Basically, clearly stating ==> hell no

Just be patient Cali People CARB is on its way out.
The clean air act is now unconstitutional and unenforceable according the the director of the EPA.
Apparently all the over the top emissions gear is not needed to be included by manufactures. Let’s see how all this pans out. Freaking politics I hate it!

As a Californian. Only can dream. WE NEED OUR FREEDOM. Not saying we should pollute but CARB is a over reach.

Mannn! I am having the same issues looking for an "installer". Local dealership quoted me $120 for .5hr work. When I showed up for my appointment, it changed to $480 because they have to test my truck afterward. I was like WTF and walked out. Still looking for an installer in Sacramento.......

I went where i purchased my RR, Woodland Ford, charged $230, took less than an hour.
I had everything pre staged for them.

I was planning on going the Gaplin Ford route, what is the issue with them farming it out to Galpin Autosport for the install?
