ProCal Tune for Ranger Raptors in California?

Made zero mention or question regarding Warranty.

Questions/concerns clearly stated:

1) Specifically, for successful, 'officially FP accepted' registrations in CA.​

2) Please confirm/comment of known, achieved CARB approved, FP registered installs in CA​

Just had my Ford Performance tune installed by an ASE mechanic yesterday....called Ford Performance 2 minutes ago......to Register your tune you need to email them at: [email protected] Include your proof of purchase along with a document listing the mechanic and their ASE cert # or the ford dealer invoice along with the assigned voucher # that came with the tune (The voucher # is assigned to your VIN so they will have your VIN # from the assigned voucher #)......they will email back conformation that it's registered.

IF you install the tune yourself AND something goes wrong down the line, Ford might not warranty the item if they think the tune caused it......that's exactly what the Ford Performance rep said to me over the phone.....it sounds like it's the maybe it's the dealers call whether to flat out void the warranty IF there is a problem down the line or wether they must show proof that the tune caused the problem and if not then they most likely will honor the factory warranty......I used an ASE mechanic for this very reason and will email them soon with the docs to get my tune registered......

No CARB sticker came with my tune kit so I just printed the tune page from the website with the CARB # and made a copy of the tune receipt and will keep it in my glovebox in case I ever need it....but I doubt it will be necessary......unless the emissions person asks about it when it's time for a smog check......

Just ordered mine directly from Ford using my points.They had an option on the website to have my local dealership install it for $112. Temecula, CA. I also have the extended warranty.

@Kidbullets sounds like a plan...placed an FP tune order today with @paulsautomotive. They shipped within ~2hrs!

Anyone needing an install around Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas I found a shop that is ASE and is around a $100 maybe cheaper if the tune is ready to install. Just ask him to put his ASE info on the receipt. Wild Pony Motorsports. Guys name is Derrin and he will happily do it. https://www.wildponymotorsports.com/

I had an appointment at Galpin performance shop in Van Nuys at $225 which I cancelled of course. They will also happily do the install too.

When I was looking for an installer, I asked FP about specific ASE certs as I have a friend who is ASE certified in air conditioning. They said it didn't matter what the cert related to.

FP site lists 'dealers' at checkout based on zip code inputs.

Assuming, their 'filtered dealers' listed accept/do install based on ProCal purchase similar to @dmac72 post. With that, FP site states dealer install price, $112.

If you find FP listed dealer(s) in OC/SoCal area which will do and honor $112...please do share.

I’m not trying to be evasive but I don’t think it matters because not all extended warranties are through the same vendor. What matters is that you understand the terms of your specific warranty (which is why I asked the dealer where I got my truck). I sent my dealer the link to the product page for the tune and asked if them installing it would void either of my warranties. He asked the service manager, who said it wouldn’t.

He said all dealers don’t just show up, they have to actually apply to be listed on the FP accessories site, and they just never did it. But that has no bearing on whether or not they are allowed to install and support and warranty FP parts. He instructed me to order it to my house and then they’ll install it.

I received my ProCal on Wednesday and I have called 5 of the local dealers in Orange County and 4 of them said they won't do it and didn't have a good answer as to why. 1 Dealership said they would do it for $1000 for in the install alone (thanks a bunch Ford Puente Hills!!!) Several dealerships told me Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park might be a good option as they have a performance department but I have called them 3 times and gotten no response.

At this point, I am planning on going the ASE route as the dealerships seem worthless (no big surprise!). Going to make some calls to today to see if I can find a shop locally.

Would love to hear if anyone in Orange County has found a place to get the install done!

Lucky you, my local dealer in Ventura County only wants $750 for install.
