Hey everyone, we're hoping someone here can help me out.
We noticed these two spots/areas on my Ranger (see pictures), but we're not exactly sure what they are or what purpose they serve.

Does anyone know what these two locations are for?
  • Are they meant for accessories?
  • Are they mounting points for something?
  • Or just part of the design with no real function?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

US trucks do not have them Ford USA loves to take things away. For a USA company they treat the USA market like a step child. Even the chinese get new features and upgrades before for we do. I think the cup holders are a nice touch, in the winter time it will keep your cup warm and in the summer time it will keep it cold since they are in front of vents.

Buy OEM cup holders from Mexico. Or from a junked one in Mex.
Anybody near the border could go to a dealer and buy it.

i googled for a ford dealer over the border and sure enough, there is one in Matamoros and it kind of looks like it is by the market that all the tourists for to when they cross the free trade bridge up by palm boulevarde, not the one at the i83 border crossing.

get someone speaking Spanish and call a dealer with the part number from an Australian Ranger
After thinking about getting a Mexican piece, I don't think any dealer carries the stupid cupholder. I've had no success on anything with them.
Just get the Australian part maybe from ebay Australia.
Or pay someone on Mexico to part with their piece.

I have not used them. I don't find them very useful. They are good for a regular soda can but useless floppy and dangerous for anything bigger.

Maybe replacing them with something useful. Maybe a coin drawer, or anything small item storage.

I do LIKE A LOT the center console held, passenger side big bottle holder I made and posted a while ago on your thread. That thing hauls safely a huge water bottle keeping clear the center console and away from causing mayhem when braking hard or crashing.
