Would love to know if we could log the brake pressure sensors. Not even sure if we have them.
Any vehicle with ABS has line pressure sensors.

Interesting

Honestly never thought the Brakes on these current rangers were a problem at all, I was just curious what the old ranger distances were.
That video was all that I could find that showed a test of them.

Apparently the increase in size and weight has kept the stats on par with the old rangers. LOL

I am currently seriously considering buying a new Ranger Raptor. My only concern about the performance of the vehicle is braking. The reviews and comments that I have read are not favorable. My current Wrangler and H-D Fat Boy (even with PM brakes) are both poor in the braking department. To be honest - I’m tired of it.

Are the rotors and calipers in the 2025 Ranger Lariat the same as the rotors and calipers in the 2025 Ranger Raptor ? The braking performance of the two vehicles looks similar when you take the Raptors higher weight into account. (70 mph to 0 mph braking tests).
Brakes? Who needs brakes! More throttle!

I have a test drive scheduled - looking forward to it.

I’m not expecting Audi or M-B braking. But I’ll have my fingers crossed that I like mostly everything about the Raptor.

If there is an issue with the vehicle, especially a safety one, then this is the perfect forum to bring it up. I’m pretty sure that someone from Ford and/or Ford Performance takes a peek at this site every once in awhile. Speak often and loudly enough and that’s how changes and improvements get done - in my opinion. The rotors were improved for 2025 - I wouldn’t be surprised if the calipers were next.

I am new to this site - it’s a wealth of helpful information and people who can discuss things in a knowledgeable and civilized way. No know it alls. I am going to my test drive armed with a lot more information, facts and experiences thanks to you guys.

I think you'll like it. It's not unsafe, I just like big brakes and I cannot lie.

The braking is competitive for the vehicle class. Should be better than your current Wrangler unless that Wrangler is on some good highway all seasons which will stop better.

So now that I'm nearing 1400 miles I will say the brake action has been getting better and/or I'm getting more used to it. I also reduced my tire pressure slightly to 36 which seems to be overall a bit smoother riding, perhaps that plus break in had an effect, hard to say exactly.

I'm at almost 1K miles and I have been paying attention to brake feel. It's not great.... They really do lack any "feel". It's hard to describe but initial bite is really low, too low and I'm not a initial high bite guy. So they lack intial feedback. Then you have to apply more pressure to get the desired effect.

What is interesting is the timing. We expect predictable braking performance "now". We don't get it "now" and then have to apply more pressure faster. This becomes unsettling due to our initial expectation that we would have some initial bite. Distance and timing. The curve is very strange to me. Have to play with it more. Also, wondering if the stability control has anything to do with it. I know in my past Alfa Quadrifolio (terrible feel carbon ceramics) the braking feel was the worst I have ever experienced unless you turned off all of the stability controls. Then it was fine.

I'm not a professional driver. I do like to drive fast but that does not qualify me.
All I know is when I went to the RR Assult driving school and sat in the passenger side while the top instructor took me around on the flat Baja course it was insane speed and insane braking before the curves.
I have no problem with my brakes and I have seen what they can do.

I really think it's a feel thing. Something to get used to and figure out.
