Ranger Raptor rear control arm brackets very large / low hanging

I really like to the Ranger Raptor. However, it appears the rear control arm brackets have a very large profile and hang very low below the axle. I would think that in deep heavy snow or deep mud they could create drag. Has anyone replaced the control arms and brackets to a lower profile or converted to leaf springs like to lower trim levels?

The Watts Link suspension is a highly sophisticated design, which results in the stellar high speed handling of the RR. If you are really bothered by the low hanging parts, add skid plates. They are only needed if you are rock crawling, which the truck was not designed for.

Have you seen that massive chunk of useless metal in the middle of the rear axle?! It hangs even lower! Definately should look at cutting that down too!
