For those on the fence between a Ranger Raptor and a Jeep Rubicon, I am currently writing this as I sit shotgun in a Jeep Rubicon and I must say the Raptor is leaps and bounds more comfortable than the Jeep. There is a vibration in the cabin from the tires and every bump is jarring to the spine. This is NOT a comfortable vehicle and after 45 minutes I am ready to get out. The skateboard suspension of the Rubicon reminds me of the notoriously harsh 930 Turbo.
Jeep pros:
- Sway bar disconnect
- 4 Aux Switches can be set to latching or momentary as well as on with ignition or battery
- Better aftermarket
Raptor pros:
- More comfortable
- Faster
- Nicer interior
- Truck bed
- Better gas mileage (at 80mph, 15 vs 17.5 mpg)
- Looks (subjective)
- Adjustable suspension
- Multiple drive modes (to be fair to the Jeep, it does have an Off-Road+ mode)
- Interior quality
Riding in this Jeep has made me realize how nice our trucks really are.
