For those on the fence between a Ranger Raptor and a Jeep Rubicon, I am currently writing this as I sit shotgun in a Jeep Rubicon and I must say the Raptor is leaps and bounds more comfortable than the Jeep. There is a vibration in the cabin from the tires and every bump is jarring to the spine. This is NOT a comfortable vehicle and after 45 minutes I am ready to get out. The skateboard suspension of the Rubicon reminds me of the notoriously harsh 930 Turbo.

Jeep pros:
- Sway bar disconnect
- 4 Aux Switches can be set to latching or momentary as well as on with ignition or battery
- Better aftermarket

Raptor pros:
- More comfortable
- Faster
- Nicer interior
- Truck bed
- Better gas mileage (at 80mph, 15 vs 17.5 mpg)
- Looks (subjective)
- Adjustable suspension
- Multiple drive modes (to be fair to the Jeep, it does have an Off-Road+ mode)
- Interior quality

Riding in this Jeep has made me realize how nice our trucks really are.

I was between a Jeep and the Raptor I ultimately bought. I just felt more comfortable driving the Raptor than the Jeep. Felt the Jeep was too noisy on highway (even Rubicon X model). I previously had a Ford Sport Trac and this is a way better version of it with off-road capabilities.

Raptor all the way. Drove a Jeep for a while and wondered what all the hype was about. Not a nice daily driver. This thing is all around awesome. And it really rips with the ProCal tune.

Owned a 2016 JKU Rubicon Hardrock for 40K miles, with 10K of serious off-road driving and overlanding, towing an off-road teardrop. Ranger Raptor for 500 miles, with no towing. I am new to the forum. Fifty+ years owning/driving Ford and Scout 4x4 trucks.

Jeep pros: raised Fox suspension with great approach and break-over angles
35" tires, Jeep and trailer
locking front and rear differentials
rear seats down, gave enclosed room for serious 5 day ice chest
Jeep negatives: wind noise
slow, especially towing the trailer up grades
range, unless carrying rotopacks
Ranger pros: acceleration on/off-road
comfort
wind noise
bed
Ranger negs: factory ground clearance, maybe
lack of front diff lock
little/no factory engine/transmission shielding
Overall: Ranger Raptor for the win, IMO

Different strokes really. I'm sure some folks will cross shop but they're such different vehicles. Jeep is built to go anywhere but it'll take it's time. Raptor will get there faster but can't quite get as far out there.

We're still in the early days of aftermarket support for the Ranger and Raptor. Give it a few years and we'll be good, never Jeep good but good enough.

It will always be better than ''Jeep good'' if you include the 99 things out of 100 that it does better.

Do not own a Raptor but I do own a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I would not even begin to compare the two as they are intended for two different end market users who value things way different.

In 2018 I wanted a Rubicon so bad after owning a few of the old Jeep "Cherokee,s". But when I test drove one on the highway, it took forever to accelerate to 80mph and there was no more gas pedal left when it finally got there. So the F-150 ecoboost was an easy decision for me. So it depends on what is "you". I like racecars, snowmobiles, off roaders, side by sides, and the ability to float over treacherous roads, sweet sounding engines, abilty to tow, abilty to carry things, and I like to be smiling evertime I get in my vehicle. So the choice was obvious for me. My Ranger Raptor always makes me smile when I walk out to it to drive it.

Theres an app called "mini moto". Its a baha racing app where you can choose your vehicle, dirt track, etc. Some of the newer phones won't be able to download it, glad I saved one of my old phones and tablets, just for that app. Used to have a blast playing it with my son and I always told him, if anyone every builds a vehicle that can do what these baha buggies can do, I'm buying it ! Whala, the Ford Ranger Raptor "Is" that vehicle! Ford should buy the app or create one similar for all of us Ranger Raptor owners. It's the best vehicle on the planet, "for me", so far. The only things they can improve on are really minor things that don't make are not a gamechanger for me. Thank you FoMoCo !!! Again.

I think people thought I was drunk in the Jeep when they were driving behind me. There's so much play in the steering on the Jeep and it just seems to wander all over the lane.
