Maybe it's as easy as using a Dremel to cut out the back of that cubby for air to flow.
Highly unlikely. Most likely to add rear air to the US ranger you'll need to purchase the ducting that runs under the console along with a new rear cover for the console that includes the duct frame and vents.

You can see in this screen grab from a youtube teardown of a ranger in Australia that there is a path molded under the console for a duct to run.

In the second screen grab there is a duct laying on the floor next to the trans tunnel that may be the duct they use on the global models.

On the previous gen there are two ducts that connect to the center of the heater core box and run down the side of the tunnel under the front seats for air. That's likely how the US 6g ranger is configured. Those ducts are probably plugged into the same spot the center console one would go into and will need to be moved.

If someone outside the US has access to parts diagrams for the new rangers they could confirm. Otherwise we'll have to wait until the US one releases and the parts retailers upload the new exploded diagrams.

The biggest hang-ups will be Ford using a different heater core case for the US spec (unlikely) or the parts being directional, meaning you'd have to import parts from a LHD vehicle for it to fit the US console.

These look very similar to the under-seat ducts in the Bronco. The circled areas are the places where I believe they are very often not connected properly from the factory. I haven’t torn my center console apart yet to fix it, but several other Bronco owners have done so, and apparently it helps. A little bit, at least.

And if the Ranger has these ducts, guess who’s going to be assembling them…? 🤨

From Australia, they have them.

If it turns out the US one doesn't get them, I'm going to be pissed. Same with air conditioned seats. This is a very large detractor. Many things pointed to me wanting this truck based on what I've seen from what has been available in other countries, specifically the platinum version.

IF and its still a very large IF, I get a ranger and it doesn't have these, I will import things to add them.

This is pushing me towards the tacoma. Likely 2.4T-hybrid, longer bed option it appears.
Honestly, my plan already is to trade my current 2018 Focus ST in on my new Ranger being built and then trade the Ranger in on a Tacoma when they are released later next year....I'll have the Ranger for a year tops

Maybe but factual!!😂
Factual?

The F150 has rear air and rear heated seats. The TRX has that plus rear air conditioned seats. Clearly it’s acceptable and encouraged to drive with your children in your truck. Plus I have coworkers and customers I have to haul around too.

I meant the get a minivan statement. If it’s that big of an issue then don’t buy the Ranger. Buy a F150, there was a time when vehicles did not have AC at all & now not having rear vents is a big issue. My F150 has rear AC vents & I’m not saying it’s not a nice feature but if it is that important then maybe a different make & model vehicle should be considered.

I don’t think anyone but a few are saying it’s that big of an issue that it will keep them from buying the truck. I ordered one. But that doesn’t mean we can’t also be disappointed that it wasn’t included. I will be making an attempt to add it using parts from overseas. But even if there’s no way to add it, I’m still buying the truck.

I'm ambitious, but not that ambitious. I'll wait for someone else to figure out how to do it first.

So, saw this in an OLD thread and thought I would raise it as a question. Has anyone checked to confirm that there are NOT heating ducts under the seats in the Ranger?

Several of the videos from the reviewers show them looking at the back of the center consol and saying "no rear heating ducts" as if to imply that the only way would be for the vents to be adjustable and in the consol. Someone - don't recall who - in one of these threads said that they looked at a Ranger at one of the auto shows awhile back and confirmed that it DID have the vents under the seat. That could have been a pre-production model, so it may have been different, but maybe not.

Geez, I remember my 1990's Cavalier having under-the-seat vents... hard to imagine they couldn't work them into the Ranger 25+ years later.
