I have a 24 Lariat and it does have both the 12V and 120 plugs in the cab and in the bed. the 120 volt plugs have never worked, the service department ssays both the plugs are bad, hummmm
and that the plugs are opn nationial backorder, this has been going on for more than a year, serv guy says they probably will never get them, there ate 2 different fuses and both are good. I even said both the plugs are bad at the same time, how about checking the onboard inverter to see if it is good, he said the tech did that, kind of suspisous that both plugs failed together..........
I have used both in cab ones and they work great. Haven't used the ones in the bed, don't really have a use for them. Had them in my previous trucks and never used them.

New here and this is the closest thread I have found so far to my issue. I have found the perfect ranger but it lacks the convenience package. I don't want the phone charge because everyone I have ever had from Ford just overheats my phone. However I want the bed lights and plugs. Has anyone found the part number for the factory lights and inverter and the 2024 panel? Then I could follow this thread to figure what wires do what as it seems like the connectors are there but they may just not have all the pins in? Also even if I get that all figured out. Do I need forscan to turn on whatever relay power these lights as I am assuming they come on from the ambient light screen?

Ok the connector is a wpt-1084. I bought one from eds parts. That comes with the pins and boots. I verified the fit of the shell.

i ordered some teflon insulated silver tinned wire off eBay and when I get that I’ll wire in my usb port.

thanks to @rikairving we know that violet is +12 and black is ground.

Hopefully I didn’t get dyslexic on the labels

Are any of those constant hot?
I'm really annoyed you can't buy the wiring manual in book form.

no, and in the case of the 110 ac the engine must be on.

Just looking for a short run for a 12v hot for a rear work light.

Received my FX 4 Ranger and the rear 12v power outlet in the rear bed is not there. Just the inverter plug outlet. I didn't remove the plate yet to see if there are any wiring for the 12V circuit. Any body else have this happen? I will check tomorrow to see of there are any 12V connections. The fuse panel has a fuse for a rear power point.?
It’s part of the convenience package on ‘25s now, which is an option. I have a ‘24 Lariat FX4 and it was included as standard equipment.

in 25, they dropped the 12 volt outlet and only included the 110 vac in the bed

and later in the 25 year (summer), you could only get the 110vac outlet as part of then convenience package as you noted

I suppose the 26 is the same as the 25 in that regard

The factory wires at the connector are only #14 I believe. So depending on your expected load and where you are tapping power will determine wire size. I use mine for a cooler that draws a max of 60 watts (5 amps), it was only a few feet from the factory plug to my socket and I went with #12 to try and help as much as possible with voltage drop. I tested it afterwards with the cooler running and I had good voltage. If you are only doing some USB charging and lighting #14 is plenty big enough.

Voltage drop won't hurt resistive loads, it will just reduce their output, but excessive voltage drop will cause motors to get hot and shorten their life.

Another thing to consider is the socket, most are only rated 10 amps max so #14 wire is plenty for safety, and only needs to be upsized if voltage drop is a consideration.

PTFE wire, Alpha 5859 or equiv, 14 gauge Mil 16878/4, silver plated

i ordered some off eBay.

in my former life we would order kilometers of this stuff, a finer strand, with custom colors, twister pairs and pu jacket.

it would survive just about anything.

its somewhat disappointing to see how haphazard some of the wiring colors are on cars.
