Recall 26S35: 2025-2026 Ranger 2.3L Engine Assembly Replacement [May 28, 2026]

This Ford recall isn't even in the same ballpark as what Toyota and GM have going on. This sounds more like a single assembly line worker was screwing with something. Hardly a major problem with the while engine line.

Different topic but I do get tired f recsll of the week. But really like my truck. I e owned my 93 f150 for 25 yrs, didnt buy it nrw. Only 1 recall on it, I didnt have it done. My 24 camry, no recalls. F150 is a less complicated vehicle. Bjt under $20k new n still pretty dependable le, things tvzr are going bad are as much from. Age as wear. Its left me stranded once in 25 yrs.

So that's Ford, GM, Toyota, and Stellantis that now have serious engine issues and/or recalls going on with their 4x4s. Does any company know how to build engines anymore?

Not to mention these new 8, 9 or 10 gear transmissions have caused problems with most manufacturers

I had a 2019 Chevy Traverse. with a 9 speed transmission at 5000 miles the transmission started to stutter. I googled the issue and GM already had a fix listed for it. I took it to the Chevy dealer and they fixed it.

After several more thousand miles it started to stutter again. I took it to the Chevy dealer and the Service Mgr said the mechanic thinks he fixed it but he wasn't sure after taking the car for a test drive. I then traded the Traverse in on a different car

Several months later I read they were replacing the transmissions on the Chevy Traverse.

This Ford engine recall affects less than 2K vehicles. Only 233 Rangers.
Toyota, GM, and Stellantis are in the hundreds of thousands, each.

Last I heard, GM solution was 'use heavier oil'.
Toyota didn't know why the 3.5 was exploding.
Stellantis..., well it's Stellantis, (aka Fiat).

And you forgot someone, although not engine related:
"Honda’s most recent major recall (June 2026) involves approximately 880,000 Honda and Acura vehicles—including 2016–2022 Pilots, 2017–2023 Ridgelines, 2019–2023 Passports, and 2014–2020 Acura MDXs—due to rear subframe corrosion that may cause suspension failure."

You guys better look again. There's over 150k Rangers under recall over the last 2 model years. At least two of those cover engine related issues.

The biggest recall is to check for a pinched wire in the A pillar. Don't think I'll need heavier oil for that. My last recall was for the tow package. My '25 Ranger did the recall itself in the driveway (software update).

I've had both models. Never seen a recall for engine problems on either forum.
Side note: A TSB is not a recall.

The recalls just never stop with Ford. I'm gonna stop calling the Ford's, just call them recall. I drive a recall.

the recall affecting the last two model years was the seat bolt. It also impacted other models.

there is only one recall impacting the engine and that affects only a very small number of rangers.

ive had all recalls taken care of, 5 in total, which includes the electronic brake booster.

two of those five have been software updates. The pillar wiring is for most, a software update with error code check

the side airbag Recall is the most intrusive for most owners.

i did need to take it in for that to the dealer and they took care of all the remaining issues and performed the multipoint inspection.

although those 233 ranger6g owners who have to get an engine replaced might disagree
