I had the trailer recall done.
No problem with the key pad or anything else.
‘I’m pretty sure from surfing the interweb that it is the BCM update as part of the pillar wiring recall.

I'd been delaying on the recalls because none of them sounded very serious, but I needed an oil change so took it in for that and all the recalls. I dropped it off and they gave me a ride home, then texted me the next day when everything was done. No drama, just a regular service appointment which is what you want.

When I was picking up my truck a guy came in all combative about getting some recall service done on his F-150. They were like "Sir, we'll need your truck for up to two days for all of this" and he was all "hell no, do it right now immediately, I know how you dealers are." They were 100% polite and professional, but he left without getting anything done.

Funny how the Ranger recalls seems to be, "we want to do this just in case there's a problem" as compared to GM recalls with engines eating them selves in under 5000 miles.....replacement engines grenading in under 1000 miles and transmissions that seize. I'll take the Ford "just in case" recalls.

I had mine in yesterday for the seat bolt & wiring harness up to the visor issue, while they did the seat bolt they couldn't do the wiring recall # 26S29 the note on the printout they gave me said this;
"Tech unable to perform recall at this time as fix is not available as per FMC-
Release expected on /around 7/24/26''
The fix is now available and the A pillar wiring issue and another ECM update were done this morning.... Only took about 20 minutes. This will be recall number four. I wonder what's next?

I agree it seems Ford is being proactive in fixing things. The airbag recall was interesting because I had the test report and the ranger passed, but just barely. So I guess technically they did not need to issue the recall.

I took my truck in and had four done at once, and most of these see simple and can be done ota or through mobile service.

Heck my wife took her Toyota in for a recall this last week and had her fuel tank replaced on another recall.

Not directly related to this discussion, but can I ask you guys about Ford picking up and dropping off your car? I feel like I hear everyone saying their dealer does this!

Is it true? Do you pay extra? Is it part of Ford warranty or is it case by case for each dealer?
My particular dealership does not come to the house but does offer courtesy pickup and drop off.
I spoke with them about pinched wire/vanity mirror recall this morning. 3 weeks to get loaner, I’m on the list.
