Hi all, bought an S&B intake a couple of months back, love it, great sound, etc.

However, I decided to fit the rubber side panel the other day in an attempt to keep the intake temps down and it’s extremely loose?

A friend has a RR with the same intake and his is loose as well, attached a video I sent to him. Is anyone else’s the same?

I’ve emailed S&B twice but they haven’t responded. Concerned when winter comes round in the UK it won’t fair too well off road with muddy water, etc.

Thanks, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion they’re all the same, but everyone enjoys the whoosh without it fitted so leave it off 😅

Mine is loose as well but has stayed on alright. I should probably reach out to them too.

Looks like a common problem then! Hopefully you have better luck getting a response from them, cause I’m not getting one!
Might just have to buy a rubber trim to run around that hole…

maybe its loose on purpose? Under normal operation negative suction holds it tight? Or maybe if it were to fill with water the positive pressure its supposed burst off/pop off to evacuate water quickly? lol, I don't know I making sh!t up......

Definitely making it up 😂 needs to be a tight seal for wading through rivers, it sucked in one edge after some WOT usage already 🤦🏻‍♂️ definitely not how they should fit!

Mine is loose as well, in the install video they say it’s optional to even have it. If you’re considering or regularly need to cross water that is above your tires, I personally think that’s snorkel territory…

if you’re going to go fast on washboard roads, put some loctite on the screws holding the BOV recycle PCV connection , otherwise this could happen to you (see picture).
