This morning we woke up to alarms going off and alerts on our phones. Exciting....
Heck of a lightning show. News said
3 confirmed tornados.

The first hour leaving New Orleans this morning was rainy with lightning, saw lots of flooded roadways, then it turned partly sunny (but really wind the rest of the way.
Wife's first Stuckys, she thought Buc'ees was way better.
Drove on the beach, took a ferry.
In Galveston now.

We will be in galveston tomorrow. My oldest son is flying in to see his girlfriend (he is an army officer and she is a child burn physical therapist so they see each other when they can) who lives in galveston.

So if I see your truck, I will honk a bunch, ha ha ha, till you pull over.

Totally agree about Houston.
San Antonio & the river walk are beautiful, diverse & enjoyable... part of the best in TEAS!

We're finally ready to go!

Leaving tomorrow morning from Oregon for Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, then back though Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, California, Oregon. A 2 month road trip touching 19 states, visiting a at least a dozen National Parks and stay in 2 of the grand lodges (Old Faithful Inn & El Tovar,) see 5 cave systems, drive a couple hundred miles of Route 66, visit my childhood homes, stop at only the finest tourist traps, and just generally enjoy the ride…

Highlights include Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Pensacola Beach, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Galveston, San Antonio, Sonora Caverns, Carlsbad Caverns, Roswell, Gallup, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Moab, Escalante, Zion, Hoover dam, Bodie ghost town, Lassen.

I’ll post some pictures of the RR visiting places from time to time as we go. ;-)
Looks like we'll have snow in Yellowstone.

Truck is loaded up, finishing up closing up the house.

I've done 2 cross-country trips with my 24 Lariat FX4 with no issues at all. Drove over 25 states, 17k + miles. Stopped at Ford dealerships along the way for oil changes & tire rotation/balance. Great vehicle to travel in.

Agreed! It has been just awesome. Had 750 miles on it when we left home. Today-

The drive out of San Antonio was really nice. Interesting countryside, good roads.
