I'm in the process of setting up my Ranger for flat towing and ordered a Curt #58986 wiring harness. The harness has 16 pin connectors for the left and right turn signals but it looks to me the turn signal connectors (outside frame below turn signal) are 12 pin connectors. This particular Curt cable seems to fit a lot of rangers back to 2021.

Does anyone know if the 2025 made a change to the turn signal connectors?

Thanks!

I just heard from Curt (Lippert) Customer Service that they do not yet have a wiring harness for the 2025 Ranger for flat towing. So if anyone has got the wiring setup for a 2025, I'd love to talk to them.

I too just purchased a 25 intending to set it up to tow. Surprised to find out the lack of products available.

Baseplates - The Blue Ox baseplate seems to be the only option so far, and it isn't due to be available until late May, early June. Roadmaster and Demco are still looking for someone to provide a vehicle for them to use. So neither one of them will have one available any time soon.

Wiring Kits - The Curt plug and play doesn't work for the 25 (as indicated above). It may be available within a month or two as Curt indicated that they were receiving a lot of calls about that, which hopefully means they would put some effort into getting that accomplished. They appear to be the only one making a plug and play to the connectors underneath. Very surprising as that is such a better option than splicing into the wiring in the taillights as has been the standard practice over the years.

Braking System - Both Invisibrake and Stay-N-Play both appear to work in the 25, although neither company has any videos or install specific to the 25, or a 24 for that matter.

So, I'm waiting for things to get finalized, and will be forced to haul my old toad (2008 Dodge Dakota) on my next trip in June.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm hoping to be able to use the AirForce One braking system in mine if and when it becomes available. I've been speaking to Glenda at Roadmaster off and on about this and from what I've heard she is still waiting for a truck to use as you indicated. I'd offer mine but need to find time in my schedule to drive there from Texas. Hopefully someone closer will make the trip.

Roadmaster called me yesterday to let me know they have a baseplate for the Ranger Raptor: It's Baseplate Kit 524481-5.

Baseplate Kit 524481-5

Now I need an installer in the DFW area.

We spoke to Blue Ox and the rep said June 4th and July 9th for 2025 baseplates to be shipped out. Totally disappointed they didn't get ahead of this. We have an RVI3 braking system to go in ours. After seeing pictures of a ranger burned up behind a motorhome recently, make sure your battery won't go dead. Some software idiot thought it would be a good idea for the transmission to be changed automatically to park if your battery goes dead. Not good if you are flat towing!

I was leaning Roadmaster but ended up going with Blue Ox for baseplate and tow bar but have not received the parts yet. According to etrailer they will be shipping my baseplate out to arrive by 6/17 and I'll take it to NIRVC in Lewisville, TX for the installation (expensive, I know.)

I'm adding an RVI Towed Battery Charger Plus to keep the battery up. I used this on my Cherokee and it worked nicely.

We looked at the roadmaster as an alternative but you have to buy another adapter to make it work with the blue ox tow bars we have so we are waiting.... local rv place here quoted about $1,000 to install the baseplate.

This is the very reason that ford said the 2024 is NOT flat towable, but someone decided to go ahead and flat tow it anyway. Any year prior to 2024 does not have this risk nor does the 2025.

This confirmed it was a 2024 model year?

If not can that feature be disabled in FORSCAN? (2025)

Good stuff. Come back here and let us know how it all worked out.

What brake system and wiring kit are you going with?

Thanks!

The wiring kit will be dealer's choice from my RV dealer; I suspect it will be3 a generic kit since Curt doesn't have one yet.

The brakes will be a Demco Air Force One since my coach is a diesel and is already plumbed for the air hose.

Well it seems maybe late for some but have sorted this out for some time.
Blue Ox was a disaster to work with and finely gave up on them in July after 3+ months.
The wiring is the same as the earlier F150 curt 52013 plugs right in with the same pinout. The one listed for Ranger will not work.

Lots to know about the Roadmaster Baseplate as well.
