Just picked my Ranger up after fixing the recall and oil change without any issues. They broke two clips and replaced those, and that sounds typical. The interior looks untouched. Happy camper here.

Mine was done without major issue, which is surprising because there is always a major issue at my local dealership. Generally speaking I’m satisfied with the recall experience.

The techs did neglect to put a few grab handle hardware trim covers back in place and did not snap the headliner back into the center retainer clip located near the interior dome light, so it rattled a bit.

Keep an eye out for that stuff when you take possession of your vehicle. I would have caught it but I was busy putting my baby seat back in the truck while outside in a rain event.

If they don't bug me about it I might not get it done. I'm leasing. They can do it when my lease is up and they get the truck back. Of course, they might push the issue come service time.

I got mine done last month. Only issue I had was the black cover above the mirror assembly didn’t look right. After the initial 2 hours they spent on it, they spent another 30 mins on it and got it as close as they could. They would have ordered a new cover and clips for me if I wanted them too. They also scratched the plate that displays the passenger airbag status. Other than that you would never even know they did anything at all.
I would say get it done. Sure it could get slightly frustrating, but I feel very comfortable knowing that it’s done. Plus, the parts have been out for almost 4 months now. Most dealers should know how to do this at this point.

Had it done on mine. No issues. I am baffled as to why anyone would not fix an airbag issue...

Not sure where you got this info, but the parts are not on back order and the fix is not a big deal if you have a good dealer to work with. I have zero issues as did most who get it done. Worse case it is all under warranty anyways.
Not sure where?.......Well, there are 2 reports on this website just today about broken clips and parts on order, so I'm not alone in my thought that I will not have this recall done. If you follow this thread and keep reading you will hear more stories about loose, broken, greasy parts , fingerprints and more

I just had mine performed last week, along with an oil change. All done within the day I left it at the dealer. There was zero evidence that the headliner pillar trim was even touched. Get it done.

Is anyone still holding off on getting the Side Curtain Recall done for fear of the tech damaging the plastics and headliner? My dealer keeps contacting me to get it done but I'm not confident that it will be done neatly and without damage.
For those that have had it done how did it go?
I took mine in on Tuesday of this week. They said it was a 4 hour deal, and they gave me a ride home. Got the call later in the afternoon saying the airbag had come apart, and they would have to order a new one. Got my truck delivered to me late Wednesday afternoon. Service recall completed.

But I don't think those parts were part of the recall. More so additional parts because of an issue.

Did mine at a large dealership. Took 1.5 days, but it went perfectly; looks as new.

I was concerned like you, so I waited about 2 months before having it done. My dealer picked up the truck mid-morning and brought it back washed late afternoon. It turned out great. Nothing damaged and no new rattles.
