Does anyone have information on the location of the Telematics Control Unit in the 6th gen Ranger?

I'm all for freedom of choice to have the conveniences these provide, but also to opt out.

Thanks.

You plan on removing it?
Unplugging the power source, if possible.

I just saw on another thread that it is located directly behind the main display.

I’d be surprised if the vehicle even worked without it.

There are quite a few posts from people who have unplugged it from multiple different Ford vehicles with not so much as a warning indicator going off. The only result was a loss of My ford pass functions/ remote monitoring and control of starting the vehicle.

Interesting. I didn’t know that.

If this is all it effects, I can see a lot of people opting to do so. Remote control & monitoring being a "feature" of new cars is not a world we should be encouraging.

I would have to agree with you. The only issue will be how to access them without damaging the display screen.

The Telematics Control Unit probably has it's own fuse. One should be able to disable it by simply pulling the fuse. And if there are any unintended consequences, then it would also be easy to reverse the procedure.

Edited to add:
I have no idea where the fuse might be.

Can anyone confirm whether or not pulling this fuse disables MyFordPass features? I have read other forums that claim it didn't work on other vehicles.

I truly hope it does, after learning that the unit in this vehcile is directly behind the main display screen.

This is the TCU fuse location:
