I have a 2024 Ranger Lariat 4x4. It has 2,000 miles on it and I am averaging 24.6 MPG for the 2,000 miles. I run it in ECO mode and live in Indiana where it is very flat. I also use the adaptive cruise control a lot and use the auto Start/Stop as well. If you reset your 2nd trip OD before your next drive, you can see the gas mileage dropping as you sit at stop lights idling. I have even hit 30.2 MPG for my 18 mile trip to work driving on 70% interstate and hitting all the lights green.

RRaptor here.
I average 13.5 mpg mostly local, some freeway. Pretty light on the pedal other than some bursts here and there to pass certain cars.

I was able to hit 20.0 mpg over 18 miles when cruising at 61-70 mph. It was miserable but I was able to hit 20 Lol.

I just picked up a new Ranger Lariat 2X4 .Love the truck .But...I live in So Cal near the beach and do a lot of city stop-and-go driving I don't drive like grandpa but I'm not heavy on the throttle by any means nor on the breaks for that matter . On my second tank of gas I recorded my odometer millage at 211.8 then drove mostly around town for a few days and filled up again at 391.0 Mi on the odometer. It took 13.35 Gal to fill up again. I'm showing 13.2 Mi/Gal average. OMG that's horrible !!! I could buy an old used gas guzzling behemoth truck and probably get 14/15 on that that!!!! The sticker says 22mpg combined city/highway .I get that and was expecting to get less .But 13.2 .REALLY??? . I did not expect it to be this bad!! Am I calculating incorrectly? Anybody else experiencing millage like this? Very disappointed at the moment...
I would be completely shocked if your mpg does not go up! I do not recall any of my customers who has gas mileage like that! Hopefully it gets better soon as the Ranger is a great truck!

is there a particular break-in procedure for the Raptor Ranger? I just picked mine up last Friday, I have had a couple of spirited moments so far, but not exactly driving it like i stole it. Also, at what mileage is everyone doing their 1st oil change?

Im 200 miles past my first oil change and Im still averaging 15+mpg. It doesnt matter if Im in Sport or Normal mode. My driving is mostly commuting 8 miles to work and back in <40mph traffic. Its not the best scenario, but Im enjoying it regardless.

RR - 18.9 avg mpg per the display, since delivery. Currently around 4,800 miles.
Commuting in the metro area during the week and more highway miles on many weekends driving to N MN lake home. Not often real hard on the pedal, but not babying it, either.
Yes, that’s where I am most times, 18-20 and it’s more than I expected. I’m thinking some of that is due to the more powerful engine with more horsepower and torque. Out on the highway, many hills are climbed in 10th gear with some dropping to 9 or 8, 8th mostly in mountains. Overall I think that the Raptor is a tiny and I mean tiny bit better than our ā€˜23 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch 2.7 with 4.70 gears, Raptor has 4.27, that probably makes a difference.

I'm close to 10k miles so far. I recently recorded about 22-24 mpg for a 6k mile cross country trip with my 4x4 Lariat. As others have said, get past the break-in and mileage will improve. I too use only full synthetic oil. I'll be changing my oil for the 3rd time next week.

I have the 4x4 lariat (not FX4 though and almost always in 4x2 mode). I'm *usually drive in eco mode, but not full grandpa. At just shy of 5000 miles, I'm pretty consistently getting around 20-21 mpg city and around 23-24 highway (with normal 87 octane). Mode really makes a significant difference in fuel economy. Eco mode shoots straight to 10th gear as fast as it can. It feels like riding a sleepy donkey. Normal mode is nice and peppy, but you can watch your average fuel economy drop in real time in comparison to eco. and Sport mode. Oh boy is that fun, but you don't use sport mode if you care about fuel economy. The tires are stupid levels of chonky too, probably not great for fuel economy. :)

Do not use sport mode!
Easier said than done. I enjoy it too much.
I get 18-20 depending, the wife uses regular mode and averages 22-26
She plays let's see how high I can get that number.
Did not buy it for fuel economy I bought it for size.
Just drive it and enjoy it cause life is too short.

I’m getting 15 in Sport mode and just over 16 in normal. I can’t keep my foot out of this thing, so that’s about what I expected. I mean really, you don’t buy a RR for the gas mileage! ?

Yes, drove my tuned 2019 in sport mode 99% of the time and my new RR is about the same after the break in period.

Approaching 1000 miles on my new RR, 1st tank was whatever the dealership filled it up with, second tank was 87 octane ethanol free, third tank is 91 octane ethanol free. AVG MPG reads 16.5, mixed highway and city (more time in city, more miles on hwy). Interesting enough, when I picked it up, range said 270miles, second tank immediately read 305 (iirc), third tank immediately read 350? Not sure how it would know the difference in what I put in, perhaps it is adjusting for the better mileage on the previous tank?

It's not what you put in, it just reading and calculating what you got on last tank and how you drive. Mine constantly has about 435 miles but it just the way I drive.

We also have a ā€˜23 Maverick hybrid and we don’t use it in the winter, it’s stored indoors with the battery disconnected. Talking about the computer learning during break in, I think, no knowledge or technical skills to back it up, that after reconnecting the battery and driving it around where I could drive on streets and roads without being pushed along by traffic. I’m getting 2-3 mpg’s more than I did last summer. That took 100 miles or more to happen .So I’m wondering if a battery disconnect on the Ranger would reset things???? If I were you, I’d research that well, check with your dealer before doing anything. Before we got our Raptor, I read something about having premium gas in it during break in, I checked with the dealer and even though the Raptor will run on regular gasoline, they thought that premium gas would be better and our gas mileage is good for such a higher performance engine.
