The holes are for accessories like the Swing Box or Bed extender. No need for them to have something in them.

I would have thought those accessories attach to the side of the bed not along the bottom edge. I have never had any of those accessories before so not sure how they attach.

I was referring to the 4 holes (2 on each side) on the left and right sides of the bed close to the opening. We may be talking about different holes.

Ford Ranger is the No1 best selling pick-up truck in both the UK & Europe, new Platinum model just oozes quality everywhere maximum respect to the Ford design team who have absolutely nailed it got it spot-on ticks ll the right boxes, hoping it's PHEV gets the Platinum treatment, luxury the interior would not look out of place in a Mercedes Benz.

Maverick would be much better suited for the streets of Europe with its sky high fuel prices can't understand why Ford don't sell it here. That said though l would still buy the Ranger my next new truck will be a PHEV Ranger in 2025, hopefully they will offer in a Platinum model luxury trim, the v6 diesel which its the most capable option best truck available in Europe, but your get obliterated by massive UK taxes.

I honestly ABSOLUTELY DESPISE ALL the shifters on mid-size trucks, they're too much like cars. I'd kill for a column shifter on a ranger.
I'd much rather have a storage space where they put that car shifter.

And yes, chrome sucks.

Mind you, I don't have a hatred of the console shifter as to how it works or feels, But it's taking up valuable space for better options like the interior work surface or a secondary storage bin/pocket.

Reddit is an echo chamber. Most of Reddit thinks the only truck that should exist is a 1998 Ford Ranger regular cab and if you have anything else you have small genitals. Their opinion on trucks is irrelevant to the wider market.

since when has reddit ever had good opinions about anything.....most of the people there think trucks shouldn't be sold to citizens, and you should have to rent a truck anytime you need to haul/tow and get a special "truck license" just to drive them.

i'll pass on giving any weight to what the reddit bluehairs think.

It’s not blue hairs. It’s Europeans, broke progressive Americans, and hipster millenials. I swear they don’t know what trucks are used for. If it doesn’t have an 8 foot bed suddenly it’s a soccer dad vehicle but never mind the concepts of payload weight, towing, and off roading. They think because they drive a 15 year old Subaru that they can’t afford to replace that it’s the only vehicle people need. Apparently if you drive a nice truck you must automatically be in too much debt because it’s inconceivable to them that some of us actually do pretty well and have a nice salary. And that before they do a complete 180 on “body shaming” and accuse men with trucks of having small genitals and big egos. Apparently there are certain disparaging stereotypes you’re allowed to make guilt free in 2023.
