I ended up putting a few larger washers on the bottom side to give that added pressure to seal it. But I also like the idea of having a solid single piece to apply the pressure from the inside. That might make it for Rev. 6 of this.

I was going to do a TPU gasket and then inset it into the border of the top, but ended up going with silicone to seal it. Just put some along the edges and then tighten it down by hand, and then wiped the excess off.
I had this nice cooler with two thin walls surrounding foam. And it always leaked because the nuts were on the two different walls and the plastic walls would deform so it would not compress the gasket adequately.

i think this will happen with your design but it will be so much better than stock.

i presented some tpu inserts for the existing pockets which seems to work well. Only 2 revisions for that. A record for anything on this ranger 😀

Actually, your design and idea to 3D print a cover was what got me to start designing a cover for mine.

I ended up doing the first few in PLA-CF to get that added strength to combat warping, but then switched to ASA-CF (for the outdoor resiliency and strength), set infill to 100%, built up the pockets for the treaded inserts to build up their strength, and then the silicone to pad/seal it. I think if I start to see leaking ill add the TPU into it as well as a gasket, as you suggested. I like that idea a lot as I think of it more and more.

Is that the dry filter? Pictures?

is this what you ordered? I am surprised all the filters for the 2.7 and 2.3 are the same?

I attempted to install S&B filter # 66-5016 into the filter box of my ‘25 with the new version 2.3 and it doesn’t sit correctly, I wasn’t able to get the lid on there is a plastic ridge or bump stop molded in the plastic, and the box looks smaller.
I had previously used this on my ‘24 2.3 and kept it when I sold the truck thinking the air boxes would be the same, oh well I have to search for something else. Just a FYI for you guys.

My 25 2.3 uses the same filter as my 23 2.7 Bronco. I also use the 18k mile K&N throw away ones. Around $20 on Amazon

Beautiful Easter Sunday afternoon so I gave the new (Jan2) baby its first hand washing! Only a couple small paint imperfections from Ford that I found and panel alignment was pretty good compared to some of the other comments. Maybe mine made it through on a better shift in Michigan. Gave it a wipe down with Cerakote (the spray and wipe version) that should hold it over until I have time for the thicker stuff. Surprised how many Kansas bugs had offed themselves for the first week of April 😳. Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Did some mild/moderate wheelin around Pike National Forest and checked out a reservoir. One section was about 19° steep so was able to try crawl mode with 4L and lockers on and it just went right up without missing a beat. This truck is just too fun
