We have been here in jacksonville since sunday and most people are doing 55-60. Some cars do more but i see lots of police writing tickets at the peak traffic times when i see most people that are going over.

We are staying off 17 between holly ridge and jacksonville and everything here is a freaking long drive. There is no run to the store and be back in 5 minutes.

I don’t miss Jacksonville NC lol. When I was there at least, every stop light was a race

Replaced the front door speakers with 6x9 3 way Kickers. Sound much better. Ordered the rear door speakers (also Kickers). Don't need it loud. Just need full range and not AM radio middy like the factory speakers.

Dude, i found a gas station in jacksonville that has 93 octane ethanol free gas and its only 4.99 a gallon.

The regular 93 was 5.09 along highway 17

If you've never owned a fast car, you'll never understand how important it is to be the first one at the next stop light. :)
 One of the few times you get to put your foot in it with less risk of getting a ticket...
I was always happy to get stopped at a light if I was a first row qualifier.

Its changed so much since i lived here in the late 90s. There are highway bypasses now, western blvd is not the main drag anymore. Its still kind of a crappy town but its a military town so its not really going to improve

Worked though a backlog of projects on the truck this weekend.

Added the Morimoto 4banger ncs amber fog lights. The description states that they are for the 5g Ranger but I did some research and they fit the 6g perfectly. I posted another thread on this but I’m loving these.

Replaced oem running boards with GoRhino RB20. I really like how much they tuck under the truck. A bit more clearance, but the kids will have a harder time getting in and out (they’ll live). They also project out a bit more than I expected, but it works well with my +25 offset stance. I think they’d look kind of goofy on stock offset. Install was a bit annoying since Ford used a healthy dose of the dreaded red thread locker on the oem brackets. All good and I’m liking them. Thanks @RealTruck

Installed Bedrug impact mat and tailgate cover. Super easy and I really like how much more comfort it is crawling around in the bed. Thanks @RealTruck

Added the Adarac low rack that I bought from @el_sabio on this site (thanks!). Super easy install and this thing is very stout! Didnt need to take of the bak x4s tonneau and the tonneau rolls up easily underneath the cross bars. I was considering modifying it to lower it a couple inches but I’m going to hold off for now. Using this to haul surfboards mostly.

Changed air intake filter with AFE dry filter in the oem box. There was a bit of sand in the box that I vaccumed out. Be careful removing the airbox clips, they are fragile and I broke one.

ATTEMPTED to install an ARB onboard compressor. Test fitted the wiring and it all works but unfortunately the compressor I got from ARB has broken clips on the wiring harness. Have to figure that out before the install. Was going to run it to inside the rear passenger bed wall (I have a bracket) but that install is going to be a pain in the ass so I might mount to my bulkhead molle panel instead.

Got the Husky RVL flares but thats going to be a iob for another day. Install looks simple but im going to gave to relocate parking sensors which will complicate things.

Also had time to drive some light trails and go for a surf! Exhausting weekend!

Well, it wasn't today, it was a little over a week ago, but I took my nearly stock XLT FX4 to the Maze District of Canyonlands and managed to drive it safely out to Cleopatra's Chair. This is rated 5 on OnX, the hardest trail I've done. It required very careful line selection and tire placement and I had a spotter. The spotter was also driving a Gladiator on 37s so I figured she could get me out if I got stuck. Pretty good situation to push my limits. I scraped the running board a few times, which inspired me to order some RCI Sliders. Fun!

(Only mods to my truck so far are better tires, Rival fuel tank skid plate and the Ford performance tune)

I have a friend that poured a slab inside of his covered shelter. After church I pulled his 85 F150 from the gravel, up onto the concrete slab. IMO, not really pulling or towing. I also put my ranger into 4 Hi. Not because I needed it, but the slab is currently raised about 5” above the surrounding gravel. I didn’t want to chip the edges or spin on his new slab. Not terribly exciting, but using a truck to do truck stuff all the same.
