Ford is being silly. One region gets some things the others don't and vise versa. It was a nightmare knowing what my Thai (Aus Spec) Ford was going to come with. The Aus spec does not come with the switches in the head liner yet the South African spec does but doesn't come with the high end head lights. Its really annoying and causes confusion.

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to have one specification standard than have to build all these different parts for different regions? Make it make sense.
I don’t know this for a fact but maybe different regions have different regulations that disallow certain features.

Whatever region has regulations that forbid rear air vents is a silly region 🤣 But I understand what you mean and it is very possible that could be the case.

2024 Ranger Raptor on order (I think?)
I could be wrong, and I probably am, I can't help but notice that markets with a Ranger that have rear vents either can't buy the F-150 or the F-150 is sold in smaller numbers. It feels like Ford has a lot of crossover between the 6G Ranger and F-150 and the availability of rear vents is a way of differentiating the two offerings in markets where they coexist. It seems like a self imposed way of preventing cannibalization of the F-150 brand domestically, something they don't have to worry about in most overseas markets.

FWIW, the new tacoma also does not feature rear air vents in every review I've watched.

Odd this came up again. It's something that's kinda been way at the back of my mind. I'm starting to wonder if it might be better to buy a lightly used 50Raptor instead of a new RRaptor. The only real drawback is size, otherwise it's got everything the RR is missing plus better towing and bigger gas tank with roughly the same MPG.

Not going to give up my order, but it's something that's been on my mind the last few days.

I don't see why rear air vents are such a big deal in a midsize truck. then again my 1970 Fairlane 500 doesn't even have AC, so maybe it is me...

The reason I say this about regulations is due to Australia not having a sliding rear window, another country, can’t recall which, requires the front tow hooks to be covered & I’m sure there are more rediculous regulations but the rear AC vent, I think that’s just a cost thing with Ford not putting them in.

Kids. I'm tired of being blasted by hot or cold air to get decent circulation in the rear seats. I don't need them, but this is supposed to be the top trim level. Having them would be nice, and it's something I'd gladly pay a little extra for. Same with ventilated or cooled front seats. It's not a deal breaker, but when just about every compact CUV has them (rear vents), it's a pretty glaring omission.

I used to be stationed in Pensacola Florida, and Kingsville Texas. I am well aware of heat, but in a smaller cabin we never had issues. I could definitely see it in a full size truck with all the cabin space. Not trying to argue or anything. It was just my experience in medium vehicles.

Edit to add: I now live in Maine, and it was 3 degrees out this morning, so it was the opposite end of the spectrum as well.

It’s just a silly and unnecessary deletion from the design. If Ford is deleting something like the rear air vents, what else are they deleting? To me it just sends a signal that they are playing games and going very cheap on the build for what will end up being a $50k truck. It’s the same thing they did with the push-button start. They want to be a customer-first, cool, technology driven company, and then they sell you a five passenger vehicle with no rear vents as an old-school key ignition.

The confusing part is that the rear air vents are available in regions where the purchasing capacity is lower/there is less demand. So the cost cutting point doesn't make sense to me. Like South Africans can afford the "luxury" but Americans can't?

The fact that Toyota is doing the same thing suggests a market research approach to the deletion rather than a cost-saving one. Not that they can't both be true, but Toyota takes a lot of pride in the tacoma so i would guess it must be a pretty strong decision not to include rear vents.

I just bought an F150 and feel like the rear air vent is clogged. I installed K&N cold air intake and was advised it was the best cold air intake and I wonder if that is the cause of the blockage. When starting the car, there are many strange noises. Can anyone with experience give me advice?

This pales in comparison to not having push button start on all trims. Its going to be 2024 and you have me buying a 40-50k vehicle which requires a key to start it.
