Good question, and I don't know. If your steering wheel has a button labeled, "LIM" then you've got the feature. And if you have it, you can set it to be the speed limit (maybe the default?), or +1, +2, +3, +4, or +5. I have mine set to +5 which is probably enough to earn a performance award in a 25mph zone from a local cop, but when the truck slows me down automatically it's enough of a reminder to me to behave and watch out (for kids, pets, OR cops).
Yes I ran out to the truck and checked, I do have the LIM button. See my edit to my original post.

So it's not like a cruise control right? You can be driving along pushing the gas with the CC off and it will still slow you down? Will it also speed you back up when the limit goes back up?

Or does it only work with CC?

I'm actually on my second reading of the 600+ page pdf of the owner's manual, been going through it and making notes of things to try/check.

I found out about manual shifting yesterday by mistake, somehow I enabled it so tonight I'll be reading up on that.

The progressive shift mode even works in other modes like eco and normal. I use it on the beach to prevent an unwanted upshift in normal mode. /Side step /Heated seats in the winter.

Be careful with this one. When I bought my truck someone had set it at +19. I set cruise at 65, then when the speed limit changed to 80 (I-90 in Montana), the truck quickly sped up to 99!

It should be for both, if you have

It has absolutely no chill about it either hahaha

I'm Canadian and lots of our highways are 110kmph and commonly drops down to 80 passing through towns ect. When it sees the 80 it basically feels like stomps the breaks to get down to 80 and when it sees the 110 it feels like it drops 4 gears and floors it! 🤣

I'll have to check tomorrow, but I'm quite sure I only had the option to set it to at most +5. Maybe forscan let's you change it further?

When you turn it on it just effectively caps the speed at the speed limit or speed limit plus whatever variance you set. It just cuts the throttle to slow you down, and when the speed limit changes it adjusts in real time. If you coast downhill and the truck goes faster than the limit is set to it'll chime to warn you but it won't apply the brakes.

Adaptive headlights with auto high/dim. Constantly looking for Bambi and critters on twisty county roads at night and these help.

Honestly the app is game changing for me when starting the vehicle. I have not had it fail on me once. Sometimes I park my car very far and a key fob remote starter wouldn’t reach that far. The app is just perfect and i have not paid a dime for it.

Yeah you Lariat and Raptor owners get LED projectors while us lowly XL and XLT owners just get LED reflectors.

The single feature I couldn't do without now is the performance headlights. I frequently drive curvy mountain roads at night and having the headlights follow the road/turn is amazing.

Second: The corner/turning lights. I has saved 2 peoples lives so far as it's dark where I turn into my complex and this illuminated them whereas without it I wouldn't have seen them.

Third: Adaptive cruise, but NOT LANE CENTERING! (Insert rant here)

Fourth: MEMORY SEATS. (Take THAT, Mr. Mechanic guy!)

I wouldn't go without the V6 either.

I just received my XLT. Yes many features to play with. I am old school so its going to take me a while to figure the Ranger out. Maybe i good thing i did not put a lot of electronics on my XLT.

The only thing that is frustrating me is trying to figure out how to get the Dome or Ambient lighting to turn on when i open the door. Will have to play with the SYNC more.

Impressed on my basic model that it can turn on the lights in the back to see better.

I came from a 4G Ranger 145 Hp in a Duratech 2.3L,2011. More then enough power in the 2.3L MPC.[

I don’t think anyone used Forscan on mine I think it was just someone else who test drove it. 2024 Lariat. I don’t remember how it it would go , just remember turning it off and thinking the last guy was an ass.

Alas, only for the '24 and '25 model years; for the 2026 model year the lariats are downgraded to the proletariat lights from the XL and XLT (I don't know if the Raptors keep the projectors or not).

Well I just re-read the manual about this LIM feature, and I wasn't entirely accurate. The manual talks about a "Speed Limiter (if equipped)" function which uses the LIM button, but also talks about an "Intelligent Speed Limiter (if equipped)" function that also uses the LIM button (see Owner's Manual, pp 272-276). The intelligent limiter is what uses traffic sign recognition to determine the speed limit, and caps the vehicle speed based on that and your tolerance as defined in the driver's aid menu. The "regular" speed limiter function just uses the cruise control's +/- buttons to manually set the max speed.
