What to expect - markup? under MSRP?

I'm balking at the $5K over MSRP the local dealer wants to tack on for a RR. Thoughts on how to address this in negotiation? I want the truck but can't stomach paying over MSRP for a 2025 in December...

Plenty of parts of the country selling raptors for invoice or close. Just keep looking.

Non-raptors easily found for 4 to 5% below invoice.

Is there an easy way to find when a specific build is coming, and to where? I know I want a shelter green, no fancy graphics, and standard rims - how to find the right place to get that?

I paid $1750 under MSRP in June from my local dealership but admittedly i'm buddies with the big dog there and i had just bought a Bronco Badlands in June '22. He gave me a killer deal on trade too. Carfax is the best way I have used to find one. There are 18 within 200 miles of Denver and plenty at MSRP but only two shelter green and they want 5k over MSRP on both. If you watch Carfax daily, they aren’t hard to find.

Traveling to get one can save thousands. A flight to St Louis is a hundred bucks or so from Colorado and most of the RR are MSRP or less here. There is a pretty good inventory and dealers that will order and sell one to you for MSRP or less.

Find one at another dealership at MSRP and tell your dealer if they want your business match the deal Don't give them any other details and be prepared to walk. There are plenty around for MSRP.
I bought my second RR from Lone McArthur in Selina, KS. They had several in stock and last I saw they had two oxford white on the lot. They will also ship it to you for a charge but I drove up from TX. Great dealership to work with! They are a performance dealership.

Had 1k off MSRP in July on a MY25.

Would not pay over MSRP...can you move outside your state a little ?

Yes, outside the state there are plenty. I'd have to factor in shipping to do that, assuming the dealer would ship (don't know if that's standard for dealers to do)

Probably don't want to do a 2 day road trip...

Not really to your point, but as a side note... late 2024, early 2025 if you wanted one of the last Chili Pepper Red RRs left in the US (less than 6 available and since this color was being dropped in 2025), I had to pay 5Gs over MSRP and buy / ship it from 2 states away. Since my local Ford dealer struck out trying to do a sweetheart swap for something on their lot. That color is still a head turner, but Yikes!
