I'm balking at the $5K over MSRP the local dealer wants to tack on for a RR. Thoughts on how to address this in negotiation? I want the truck but can't stomach paying over MSRP for a 2025 in December...
Long McArthur Ford in Salina, KS, has two 2025 RRs, both in White @ $1000 under MSRP. Tell your dealer to match their discount. If not, call LM. Not too far to drive from Colorado to go buy one. Or ship. I bought out of State from SD, the dealer arranged shipment to my door and later picked up my trade and shipped it back. 420 miles each way, $800 each way. No miles on new truck, no hotels, no gas, no problem. Never bought that way before but got what I wanted.

Its your money, but $5k over MSRP is excessive, to say the least. Go in the last day of the month and tell them you will pay MSRP, period, otherwise no deal. Be willing to walk away, and do it if they say no. I promise you can find a new RR for MSRP at numerous dealerships. You will just need to expand your search a bit.

The only reason dealerships charge over sticker is because some are willing to pay, and I wish they wouldn't. I love my RR, its an amazing truck, but no way is it worth over MSRP (I can't think of many vehicles that are). Just my opinion, others may disagree and thats ok.

That said, cars are worth what people are willing to pay. Personally, I would never pay over MSRP simply out of principle.

Check out Future Ford in Sacramento, California, where you can pay $90K for the privilege of owning a 2025 RR. Other RR on the same lot are "call for pricing." After 90 days, it is hard for dealers to make money after paying finance lot time charges to Ford. My guess is the Sacramento RRs are headed to closed auction, unless there is one buyer out there who will pay $30K over MSRP. Of course, there is a rich Prince living in California who might want it.

I was watching Deliverd yesterday on YouTube and he was negotiating on Ranger Raptors. He was trying to find one in California but had deals on 2025's elsewhere at $3,000 off MSRP no adds. I think an attainable goal would be $2,000 - $3,000 off. Remembering that the margin on what you're looking at is about $2,200-$2,400 before holdback.

That sounds great.

What is margin and hold back and how does one know what those values are?

I purchased mine in September and dealer offered $2240. off MSRP no negotiation needed.
They are trying to be high-volume Raptor dealerships

You have to get the factory invoice...good luck with that if your dealer is charging over MRSP. The manufacturers have this amount that they reimburse the dealer for when the vehicle is sold. It is usually in the $800 range or so and it is listed on the factory invoice as "Holdback".

I reached out to that Grand Junction dealer. They do 5k markup "typically" but would negotiate. Tell them you'll take it at MSRP. If not, you need to go out of state. Use visor.vin to search inventory.

I refused to pay over MSRP. Took a while to find what I looking for at a discount to MSRP. Got my RR in March from MN at a $2000 discount. Absolute clean deal no adds, no markups, only thing was a $400 doc fee which is nothing really. Had it shipped to Texas, it arrived 3 days after purchase. Couldn't be happier, dealership treated me great, went out of their way to accommodate me. They took me step by step through the out of state purchase process.
My advice is to search surrounding states. You'll be surprised the wide range of pricing you'll find. Ask them to send you the out the door price with all charges included. The dealerships that won't do that are lying to you about the actual sales price.

I paid MSRP back in March from a dealer in Texas

I just started calling the ones closest to me….a lot of them wanted $5K over

I told all of them I wouldn’t pay a dime over MSRP

funny thing was after I bought mine…some of those that wanted $5K over called me back and said they’d do MSRP

Thanks all! I found one for 1300 under, spec just what I wanted, and am content with that. working on shipping now!
Congrats on your purchase and good deal. I paid MSRP in July. The total MSRP on mine was $57.4K and they threw in a rubber bedliner, so I don't think I did that bad. I think they raised prices right after mine was built.

Just paid 55800 on a 59K RR 2025. There is about $4300 markup on a 59K RR
