When should I expect to need to service the Fox shocks?

So after reading this, a member communicating with Fox, and we see that 50k is the marker.

Is this as simple as taking the truck off line for a bit, removing shocks, struts, packaging them up and shipping them to Fox for service? Fee + shipping and we are good for another 50k?

Prior to purchasing the Ranger Raptor someone mentioned to me enjoy paying for a shock/strut replacement. I had asked why and they said because it is a couple grand. I was like ouch. Of course I was ignorant so looked around and saw here that sending in to Fox was the way to go.

Anyway seems reasonable to send them in just making sure I understand it correctly. I'm a ways away from that but knowing is half the battle :D
That's pretty much it. I don't have the garage space to get this truck 4 wheels up and leave it for a a week+, so I had Texas Shock Works do the rebuild in house. They have general pricing on their website. They charged a bit more than F150 for the Ranger because its rear coilover. Including new bushings on the front shocks, it came out to $2200.

Looks like its $600-1000 via various mail in services.

The only thing I'm unsure about is if any "reprogramming" has to be done upon reinstall.
There shouldn't be. My ride height sensors were showing 0" after the rebuild. Its a pretty easy process with Forscan to recalibrate the ride height sensors if something was off.

I did need an alignment though.

What a rip-off, these shock should last 100 k miles
I don't know, for how well they do everything, having to service them isn't a negative for me. With traditional shocks, you'd have to change all four to do make changes I can do with a switch, 100s of times, without getting out of my seat.

I'm going to suspect shocks will get a rebuild once they start leaking more so than a preemptive shock oil refresh. Then, I wonder if Ford dealers will have the skills and experience to do a shock rebuild/repair. Really, it seems dealers will simply replace the Fox shock with new shocks. If/when that happens be sure to get your old, original shocks and take them home.
No. These shocks aren't like that. They need to be completely rebuilt with seals, oil, nitrogen, about every 50K miles of on-road usage and if you're really working them off-road, every 30K - 40K miles. And replacing them isn't cost affective at all.

🤦‍♂️.....thats not how these shocks work and it's VERY well known that they need to be rebuilt. They are truly off-road purpose shocks like are used in Baja racing which means they are designed for a specific purpose, and do it well, but longevity isn't their purpose. It's like buying a Ferrari or Lamborghini and then complaining about the maintenance costs to keep it running like the elite machine it is. That would be stupid. These shocks are the Ferrari/Lamborghini of shocks.

Yep. Either that or a FOX certified dealer near you can do it, if they offer rebuild services.

For comparison sake I guess what is the typical mileage of replacing shocks, struts, on the non Raptor?

I guess the only thing I didn't really think of is accessibility of taking them off myself :) Hopefully they are not that difficult when the time comes.

I'm guessing an alignment is due after?

Not sure on rangers, but on my gladiator Rubi, the shocks started weeping around 50k miles, with maybe 10k miles of that being rock crawling, off road, etc. I’d assume standard ranger shocks would need to be replaced around 75k-100k miles.
