I am hearing the fan for the wireless charger during startup. Initially I would hear it once and while or when turning hard (shifting weight). Now I hear it every time I start the truck. I’m guess since it’s colder out. It is 100% the wireless charger. I can stop the fan by firmly pressing on the charging pad.

Can I simply remove console panels and unplug the charger/fan? I never use it…

Or let the dealer handle it? I just dread the hassle of drop off, loaner, pickup for such a weird non-mechanical issue.

I have the wireless charger in a 24 XLT 2.7 eco, my I phone gets so hot it has shut down using it. If there is a fan in mine it’s not working or I can’t hear it.

That's the exact same issue I ran into. I thought it was my phone not shutting off charging after it reached 100% charged. I have never heard a fan running by the wireless charger

Hopefully Ford is reading this and can chime in. I had battery problems in my F 150 and they monitor that site, got involved with the dealer and eventually gave me an Extended Warranty for free ( after towing the vehicle 3 times) I want the wireless charger, I don’t want it overheating my phone and having it shutdown in downtown Houston while using a map program. The sync 4 is an option but no where near as good as Apple Maps or Google maps

Awesome. Will try this. Wont throw codes or anything?
I do not think it will throw any dash indication light, but probably will be a stored code in the BCM for it if a system scan is done.

Also, I just found the full circuit and there is one other constant hot wire going to it that will not be disable by the fuse pull. I still say pull the F3 fuse and see what happens anyway.

The USB port just above the charging mat gets power when you open a door even if the truck is switched entirely off. Found that out when temporarily powering my dash cam off it when waiting for a new set of add a fuses to show up. Not sure if the charging mat fires back up at the same time, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Are you getting any codes? DTC code P150E:96 indicates an issue with the Electronic control module cooling fan circuit.

If you have a scan tool there is a specific self test for the wireless accessory control module but you might have to take it to the dealer to run that test.

This is interesting as my phone gets very hot when using the charger. So, I guess I don't have a fan on my. Knowing this I will charge the phone using a cable via the USB port.

My phone also overheats on the wireless pad. Never heard a fan. It also causes radio interference and makes audio crackle. I have to use a cable. Yet another thing I paid extra for that Ford dropped the ball on.

I drove around today and ddn't use the wireless charger. It never seemed to get hot, granted it was only 25 today. I'm thinking it only heats up when it's charging.

But more testing is needed.
