During the amber DRL install, I also installed Signature Lux's amber grill lights. They look and work good, but for the sake of time, I wired them to my AUX1 switch. The switch stays on, so they're on when the truck is on, but I would like to wire them to something that turns them on when the DRLs are activated. This occurs when you unlock the truck, have approach lighting turned on, etc.
Below is a picture and a wiring diagram of the left headlight connector:
I was tempted to tap into pin 3 to feed the grill lights, but I know that DRLs are dimmed in certain circumstances by PWM from the BCM, and although I didn't test, I think I read somewhere that they don't operate on a full 12V circuit.
So the next best thing would be to tap pin 20 which is the side marker light, but those aren't always on.
Are any of you lighting gurus using some other circuit somewhere to have your grill lights on with the rest of the lighting system, or is everyone pretty much using AUX switches?
