During the amber DRL install, I also installed Signature Lux's amber grill lights. They look and work good, but for the sake of time, I wired them to my AUX1 switch. The switch stays on, so they're on when the truck is on, but I would like to wire them to something that turns them on when the DRLs are activated. This occurs when you unlock the truck, have approach lighting turned on, etc.

Below is a picture and a wiring diagram of the left headlight connector:

I was tempted to tap into pin 3 to feed the grill lights, but I know that DRLs are dimmed in certain circumstances by PWM from the BCM, and although I didn't test, I think I read somewhere that they don't operate on a full 12V circuit.

So the next best thing would be to tap pin 20 which is the side marker light, but those aren't always on.

Are any of you lighting gurus using some other circuit somewhere to have your grill lights on with the rest of the lighting system, or is everyone pretty much using AUX switches?

Im interested to know the answer too. As another option could you use a multimeter to figure out a fuse in the engine bay and fusetap them?

I wired my grill lights to my side marker lights, and then used Forscan to enable the side markers to come on with the DRLs. It works great. I also wired the amber backlight portion of my fogs to the same circuit . It looks really good when you unlock the truck.?

Perfect! I guess I didn’t know there was an option in Forscan to tie the side markers to the DRLs. I’ll look that up. Thanks!

I believe this setting in Forscan does enable the park lamps to come on with the DRLs, but that also means that the rear park lamps (tail lights) are on as well. Is that the case with your settings?

No, the setting I used just enabled the side markers. I did no know that 5her3 was @nother setting that enabled the parking lamps too.

I can’t recall the exact location in the modules, but if you look under Side Markers, you will have an option to enable with DRLs.

I also wired them to my side marker lamps but didn’t change anything, it now acts just like the big Raptor, the 3 grill lights only come on when the headlamps are on and DRL’s dim. Otherwise it’s just the DRL on full

I installed my signature lux grille lights. Powered them with the SPV headlight harness. They came out great.

The SPV harness came with the tap on pin 3 (DRL@5v), I switched it to pin 9 (marker lights@12v). My marker lights are always on along with the grille lights.

I’m also looking to wire the grille LED’s to the DRL’s by tapping in.
How would the LED’s be affected when the DRL’s dim down when switching on the main lights/dipped beams?
Unfortunately EU Raptors don’t come with side marker lights and I can’t seem to find a plug & play harness.

How did you connect the grille LED’s to this harness?
Did you have to remove the connector from the SPV harness or was it compatible with the fitting on the LED harness?
Cheers.

I wired mine the same way and hadn't noticed that, but I will double check and get back to you. If it dims, it doesn't dim much. With this wiring, I DO recommend turning off the wink with forscan though otherwise the drl will go off with your turn signal.
