Would you buy a fitted insert for this wasted dash cubby? 2024+ Ranger

Which version would you actually consider buying?

I'm thinking aux switches, but bass knob might be useful as well. Maybe a combo option later down the road?

Charge ports A and C with voltage instead of cigarette lighter. I haven't used a cigarette lighter interface for a long time. So 10 Modified.

Bass knob, hands down. If you decide to make it, consider at least 1 sold!
Yep, me too! I'd take one for the bass knob! Love the idea of making these odd spaces useful!!

How is it going to be held in place?
The plan is a snug, removable fit with retaining tabs and a thin rubber/TPU gasket to help keep it secure and prevent rattles. Ideally, no drilling or permanent changes to the factory trim.

The exact mounting method still needs prototype testing in my truck—especially to make sure it stays put when you turn the bass knob 👍

#10. Is my favorite
#4. I can see useful.

Everything else is pointless.

aux switches?
We already have them on the raptor, but I can see a need for them on a base or xlt ranger.

coin holders are lame.
You can never have enough aux switches…

I guess the charging port could work to plug in some accessory item? But that would have to be mounted somewhere - you can't just hang something charging off that insert via a USB cable. Any longer cable would be a great tripping item getting in/out also. And if you were using it to power something you added - why not just hardwire that item instead?

So my feedback would be a warning to adding charge ports there. Would have to be pretty specific to be useful, IMO.

I'm also someone who never noticed we had it; despite our cabins lacking in storage a bit.

Good call marketing it as a Raptor accessory - that way you can charge 4x as much.

I have a 3d scanner I got recently. I can try and take a scan for you if you'd like.

Voltage gauge is my vote, but make it angle up towards the drivers eyes!

That would be awesome — thank you.

I’m trying to design a fitted insert that fills that cubby cleanly, so accurate dimensions and curves are important.

What 3D scanner did you get?

If you’re willing to try it, ideally I’d need the scan at true 1:1 scale in STL, OBJ, or a similar format, including the floor, side walls, and curved upper edge of the cubby.

Really appreciate the offer.
